We should have just gone back to Liverpool and told them £140m and they likely would have paid it. Being stubborn and trying to be “clever” with him in the reserves etc is just devaluing him anyways. He won’t want to play for us and even if he did it would be half arsed.

Yes I agree with this. The 3 years have been excellent and this last 2 month have just been a reality check. The fact we are even in the discussions for the players shows how far we have come. But we do need to get a bit better at doing things. But we learn from these mistakes.
I think we are just delaying the inevitable if I’m honest. I think it’s a waste of time and possibly might cost us more with a devalued unmotivated asset. But time will tell.
We cant sell to Liverpool or another PL club out of principle. Isak wont play for NUFC again, that is clear. So he and his agent need to find a solution aboard. That is the way out for them.

Put it this way I learned early on in life that you have to draw a line in the sand with people or you'll get more ****. I'm not pretending I'm a hard ****, but anyone who's stuck up for themselves publicly will tell you the same thing. You cannot be seen being pushed around.

What good does that serve though other than trying to Billy big balls. Don’t get me wrong he deserves it. But it means he doesn’t play.
