Just had a quick google, looks like he is injured with knee issues. That’s the last thing Spurs need. Add in he’s 33 and his wages.
So I think I have an idea why the approach for Nico Paz stalled out: Los Ladrones reportedly have a 50% sell-on fee
Levy and ENIC are either incapable or unwilling to take this football club any further, we have gone as far as we can under this regime of businessmen and property developers, who are content with PL participation and growing revenues, sporting success is not a priority. If you are happy with this tedious and insipid situation, petrified of any kind of change, then you are exactly the kind of fan Levy wants. On the other hand, if you want better and would like to see this great football club lift the league title again one day, regularly pick up silverware and compete to bring the world`s best players, then you should support change for Tottenham. Levy out.
Every fan wants the club to lift the league title and regularly pick up silverware etc. Even the ones who in your opinion are the type who Levy wants.
We are 143 years old and have won 2 titles, 8 fa cups, 4 league cups and 4 European trophies. That's 18 trophies in total at an average rate of 1 trophy every 8 years. The bulk of our trophies came in a 30 year period 1961-1991 when we won 1 title, 6 fa cups, 2 league cups and 3 European trophies meaning 12 (two thirds of our trophies) came in that period. In the 78 years prior we won 3 trophies. In the 33 years since we won 3 trophies. From 1961-62 season until enic arrived (40 years later) we competed in Europe on 13 occasions. That's an average of once every 3 years. Since Enic took over we have won 2 trophies in 23 years (1 every 11.5 years) but have lost 5 other finals (we had only lost 3 finals prior to this. We have qualified for European football 18 times in 23 years under Enic. That's once every 1.2 years. We have gone backs since 2019 on the pitch but the idea that we should be winning the title (something we've only done twice in our 143 years) or win the European Cup something we have never done (and only 6 English have managed to achieve)is pretty fanciful. I am still on a high of watching us win in Bilbao with my daughters. But appear to be in a minority
Here is the league table in the season ENIC took over. Look at the ten teams around us. We have done better than all of them.
Leicester have won the league and the FA cup (and the community shield) - equally in 2008/2009 they were in league 1 so a few ups and downs, but as a fan would you swap the 2 trophies for being conistently in the top flight, the rollercoaster of being a Leicester fan in the 21st century has been one hell of a journey we are 'dull' in comparison! They have won 4 divisional titles this century
We've also won two trophies and been in Europe most seasons. No way have Leicester done better than us.
Leaving aside their dubious ownership, they've been exceptionally lucky. I don't mean on the field either, but in avoiding punishment for financial rule-breaking. They avoided sanctions repeatedly by either getting promoted or relegated. They're going to be gifting 3 points in the Championship due to similar bullshit, ironically. Sheffield Wednesday are on the verge of bankruptcy from **** owners and they've got them. Another victory for the arseholes that keep letting obviously unfit people buy clubs.
The fact is Levy is going nowhere soon regardless of protest. He will not be pushed, he will eventually jump. My concern is the claim, this insistence, that the other clubs approach overspending is unsustainable. Nobody is insisting that Levy sustains overspend in the way the say Chelsea have, for long periods, We just need a timely injection, temporary overspend if you will, to allow the right kind of progress. This window started well until it all got a bit gangster with MGW and the chairman. Respect to him for showing grit when necessary for the good of his club. FFS Levy, it's time to put your balls on the table!! FIGHT!! Get Eze in. Get Wissa in. Get a Wharton or a Baleba in. Just one window of assertion and indulgence at the right time. You got Frank in, his entire team, but not one player who has worked with him? Why not? In winning the Europa League, you have Man U just where you want them, but you now allow them to outspend you?!? To make their project look more appealing?!? You should now be delivering the killer blows to the status quo. If not now, when? Respect to INEOS. They know what time it is. It's kill of be killed and only one of us looks like we are indifferent at the moment.
They won the PL and FA Cup Spurs won the Europa (new format has devalued it) and the league cup. They’ve been relegated a few times admittedly but definitely never dull being a Lesta fan.
Has it not occurred to you that Frank doesn't think his Brentford players are good value. Also a cash injection from the owners does no good because we are limited on spend by the stadium covenants. Of you look at our accounts you can see that we've spent every penny we can. We revalued the stadium last year. Without that our liabilities would exceed our assets. The only way to increase spend on players is to remove the stadium covenants, either by paying off the loans or guaranteeing them some other way. ENIC can't afford to do that.
The man's a vile criminal who just ignore the rules, as usual. He's been involved in match fixing, drug trafficking and wire-tapping politicians. He should never be allowed to own a football club. We may actually be prevented from doing so under the terms of taking Frank from them. There's not going to be much left there to take anyway, at the current rate. I'm sure they'll have a plan but their stability is shot to pieces. The group that are pillaging the club and sacking the tea ladies to finance it? No, thanks.
OK it's not really like this, but thought I'd do a dodgy calculation anyway. If Sesko cost £74 million is on £200k per week, that's £84.4 million in a year. If a tea lady earns £25k per year, in order to afford Sesko you'd have to sack 3,376 tea ladies. Of course Chelsea's tea ladies are on a 10 year contract which means they only "account" for £2,500 each year.
The sad reality is, if Utd do well on the pitch then most fans won’t care how many non playing personnel earning pennies (in comparison to players) have been sacked.
But we won the EL, Billy. Shiny shiny trophy. Or you are claiming the UEFA/FA cup trophy frequency is too low (if so, what is the frequency you contend that Spurs should be satisfying) ...
