Because getting promoted is not ****ing simple. If that was seen as condescending I apologise I was going for sarcasm because promotion is not simple. The irony of saying my response wasn't in line with a normal human given 90% of posts on here..
I understand that, I’m not daft, believe it or not. I am generally though, positive and optimistic with these things and I like to believe anything is possible. Doesn’t always work like that, trust me I know, but I’d rather look on the positive side.
Don't you think football is a lot more simple than it's made out to be? Take recruitment, for instance. The massive amount of data available nowadays means clubs have a stupid number of options, but it's those options that make it difficult.
If you understand it then you understand my point that behaving unsustainably and hoping for promotion in order to make it work is a really dangerous way of operating which was my point to begin with.
No I don't. 3 clubs go up despite close to 24 clubs starting the season hoping to go up. Getting the competitive advantage over 19 other clubs to be the one to go up, before you even factor parachute payments and any other natural advantages some clubs have into things, is incredibly complex to manage. It's like people simplifying things down to McBurnie = staying up, no McBurnie = going down. We could have stayed up without him, and conversely we could still go down with him. Nothing is as simple as people try to make it.
But 16 of those clubs probably have next to no chance of going up. So don't bother trying and instead focus on small progression year on year to get to a point where you can become one of those 8 clubs who are capable of challenging. Everyone wants to emulate Brighton or Brentford, but both of those clubs were very patient and took ages to go up, yet nobody seems to have any patience.
It was the ****ty way you wrote it. I can put my points across without being ****ty, unless someone riles me.
You’re right, we could still go down with him, but as a club, we have a better chance of success with him than not imo.
Did Sunderland have much chance going into last season? We had this conversation years ago where you said it was so easy you just had to buy a bunch of young players and sell them for profit..
I meant it was weird you were hung up on me saying not to take the wage quoted for mcburnie literally when everyone's guessing.
Quip? I said don't take me literally when quoting mcburnies wage. It was a completely different conversation. It was you mocking me over something you were clearly wound up by. I'm just suggesting it's ironic to carry on about me being condescending when you were too.
I was having a discussion with you Syd not wound up in the slighting! I made a joke quoting something you said. Don’t take my post so serious
