Fernandes has played in all but two of the preseason games, as far as I’m aware. Only missed Brighton because of illness.
He got half an hour in one friendly and an hour in another and that was a couple of weeks ago. I might be wrong but even if he starts I'd be surprised to see him do more than an hour.
It will be interesting to see how Downs fits into the team. He clearly likes to make runs through the channels but I thought I read somewhere that he also likes to drop deep and link play, a la Rickie Lambert or Che Adams. If he can play that role, we could see an improvement in Adarma’s performances because iirc he scored a lot of his goals in the last championship campaign by coming in off the right onto balls played through the gaps created by Che’s movement.
If Fernandes is fit & wants to play, you play him whilst you can as I’d expect bids to come in over the next few weeks.

I've decided I'm taking a leaf out of your book and I'm going to start doing that. A decent couple of quid will take the edge off when we lose and I'm a bit disappointed in myself for not thinking of it sooner I'll still sulk, but sulking with £20 is a lot better than sulking without £20
