Buy a ticket for the whole dockyard and see Warrior, the first ironclad warship too. Mary Rose museum is there as well, that's a real big treat.
I was there last month. We took the little boat over to the submarine. Twas fantastic. A trip to Sally Antiques is always fruitful. I've had a love affair with Pompey for many years. Only one issue: the main restaurant in the dockyard is chaotic at the best of times. It's better to have a light lunch at the Mary Rose cafe.
I always enjoy lunch at the cafe in the church, the one run by special needs people. They make a cracking omelette and chips. And the coffee is superb. As for the rest of the town, forget it. Even the quayside is degrading by the day. Very sad.
The Ship and Castle outside the dockyard is good. If you want to hear some real Pompey spoken, go up to the town and visit the Royal Standard, also known as Ruby's, it's the place to be.
