Seems to be a thing now that when a player has a serious injury people compete to see who can be most aware of the need to give them time. If a date is quoted for their return, people are falling over themselves to point out that they'll need a bit longer than that, and then rounding it up further and further to be on the safe side. Best leave it til next season for Millar and Belloumi I reckon, cos it is a serious injury they had you know.

As soon as we get a day or so of good news signings etc , a day later some begin the dismantle , guesses and criticism of players who’ve not played a game for us yet .
Can’t we just wait and see ?.

We might be able to forget Puerta. Or buy him then sell him.

What about Joseph? In the scenario where we get Frigan, does Joseph become surplus to requirements up front? Mcburnie, Destan, Gelhardt and Frigan ahead of him?

I think Frigan, like Zambrano will command a significant fee further on in their career. I almost see it as an opportunity to invest for the future.

Captain again, Lewie Coyle. Fine by me for off the pitch motivation, team bonding etc. But honestly, is he a first team player? Gives an honest account of himself but he seems too limited to me...obviously, every recent manager must think well of him that he is an ever present on the starting eleven...but I do not get it. What are your thoughts? I am looking for a constructive critique here, not an how dare you think negatively of the captain.

You’re being petty now , I was pointing out that in almost all even modest injuries players never return ‘match fit’ yes they can run etc but it’s the rest you want them to do and that is often lacking for some weeks . I was trying to temper the expectation for these two , so they are not expected to perform fully immediately . How much more contrariness does this forum want to satisfy the poster . I cannot possibly tell whether you are a culprit but along with some others it’s wearing thin for some of us .

Coyle looks a really good player when he is on top of his game
I like Coyle. He may have limitations but he gives his all and puts a decent cross into the box.
Maybe with McBurnie as a target man he will get more assists to his name.

Yes it's an interesting one. He's going to be either 3rd choice if we play one striker or 5th if we play two. Either way a lot of games on the bench.

I'd say loan him to League One but he's played a lot of games at that level, so not sure what benefit it would have!

Do we know if Gelhardt has been registered in time for tomorrow? (Even if he hasn’t officially been announced yet)

One concern about ACL's is that a player loses a yard of pace post surgery. Millar did 100m in 10.2 seconds a week or so ago in training. Let's hope he's still as quick twisting and turning as that is pretty rapid!

And luckily Belloumi was just pure liquid footy less relying on pace, blokes touch put him far ahead of most players in the league one of the best first touches I’ve seen for city.

I would be worried with most players but Gelhardt seems to have been working hard to make this move happen.

did not know that but on the flip side only scored 3 goals all season I think. Not that I am knocking him but stats are stats. We are going to hope he gets back to some of his previous excellent totals

He might even beat Leigh Jenkinson with that pace.

Sounds like someone's trying to outdo anyone sounding a note of caution.

Completely ignoring the practical reality of coming back after having your knee rebuilt and it being immobilised for months on end.
