Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has told Fox News "we intend" to take control of the whole of Gaza. Speaking ahead of an Israeli security cabinet meeting, Netanyahu is asked by the outlet whether Israel will take control of the Strip. He responds: "We intend to, in order to ensure our security, remove Hamas there, enable the population to be free of Gaza and to pass it to civilian governance - that is not Hamas and not anyone advocating the destruction of Israel". "We want to liberate ourselves and liberate the people of Gaza from the awful terror of Hamas," he adds. But Netanyahu also says Israel does "not want to keep it". "We want to have a security perimeter. We don't want to govern it. We don't want to be there as a governing body," he adds.
I heard something that they want Arab forces to eventually take control, once secure...who are they referring to that is capable of that?
I haven't listened to it, but what makes me laugh is people broadcasting on social media any intentions lol....straight on watchlist for the security services or depending how absurd the claim is it could mean an early morning call from the cops rearranging your front door layout.
He was talking about another Arab state coming in to Govern Gaza. I'm not sure which one would come in and willingly deal with the destruction, trauma and reconstruction work there after Israel have finished there. But I think it will need another Arab nation to support the PA to govern Gaza (this is something that Benny has tried to quash before) but Egypt seems like the obvious choice, although their own economy is struggling right now. If the US are still thinking about putting money in to reconstruct Gaza, that would be welcome, but it can't be as a part of Trump's loony plan to turn it into a big casino for rich Israeli's and Yanks whilst booting the native population out. It should really come down to the US and Israel to fund the reconstruction seeing as they are the ones who have trashed the place.
Germany taking a stand and a lead ... no surprise if others follow... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/c1mpe9x80xvt
Israel is becoming a Pariah state I was listening to an interview with a Jerusalem based Journo the other day, she was saying that the Israeli economy is starting to tank because investors don't want to be associated with Israeli products and services and that more and more countries are starting to impose sanctions and halt arms sales because of the war. And there is a huge groundswell of ordinary Israelis who oppose the war and want him removed. She went on to say that Netanyahu is concerned only with his power base, and exists to appease the right wing ultranationalists in his Govt who are propping him up, because he knows that he faces criminal charges if he's out of power. Added to that will be new charges of war crimes, so he is willing to trash Israel on the international scene and sacrifice the hostages, to keep himself in power.
In your tiny noggin perhaps ... in the real world, there's as much chance of that as you getting a season ticket at Anfield ... #AliceInSofaland
