Don't take my post so literally. We're talking about the prospect of lowering the wage bill and you think that automatically relegates us.
The squad a week and a half a go likely would’ve. We’d lost 11 goals from a team that stayed up on goal difference
I would be guessing like I was above, do you not acknowledge the point though? If you’re using wages saved on players who made little to no impact for players who’ll be playing every week it’s a good thing?
Do you acknowledge our wage bill has now gone up significantly from last season And we were in trouble then? Syd etc keep making this point And you now and others seem to want to stick your fingers in your ears and ignore it all It’ll be bed wetters again next
Every single summer, without fail, there are conversations on here which go like this: ‘We need to cut down our wage bill’ ‘Getting so and so off the books will be a huge benefit’ ‘The finances will look better once we shift some of the deadwood’ Forgive me for not getting giddy over signing a striker who is decent but nothing special and making him our highest-paid player by some distance. We end up getting rid of players after only a year or so due to them being deemed surplus to requirements but the wage bill never actually goes down. In fact, it somehow manages to increase. It’s gone from 130% of our revenue to now 143%. This club goes through more blokes than Bonnie Blue.
Is that true though? I’m not sticking my fingers in my ears and ignoring it at all. I’ve been as vocal as any on public social media at my loss of trust in the owner. I think we’ve been very astute in our business this summer to build a side that can allow some of our younger players whose value can increase to stand out on a regular basis
A striker who the favourites for the league wanted to bring in. A striker who had a MOTM performance against Real Madrid last season. Come on he’s a good champ striker
None of the Blades fans I’ve spoken to rate him much. Maybe it’s the £20M transfer fee that influences their attitude but they weren’t thrilled about the idea of him going back to them this summer.
Oooh, he could change it to something ****ing appalling that makes him look like a complete **** every time he posts, regardless of content.
It seems very split on social media. My ex blades academy mate says we are very lucky, players usually talk others up more though I must admit
Maybe. I’m sure players, especially academy ones, will look up to the senior players a lot. Would be a pretty bad look to badmouth a teammate or former teammate for their ability even in confidence.
He is a fan too so he’ll have watched him a lot over he last few years. I just like him for the fact that he’s a player that wants his wide players involved, he interview was very encouraging
Everyone saying there's a difference between staying up and spending big wages on McBurnie, would you have been happy going into this season with Joseph, Destan and Burstow as our strikers? One way route to relegation that I'd imagine unless we were very lucky.
Again though that's not the only two options is it? It's such a weird straw man. "We just had to sign mcburnie or we were going down"
