People are rightly worried about Bowen, but who else.are qe expecting West Ham to start with? Wilson? Fullkrug? Yes a challenge but not exactly world beaters

I watched west ham v Bournemouth in that summer series thing and fullkrug looked very lively for them and a proper handful.

mind you the lad at left back for them malick diouf stole the show with his crossing ability from full back, Hume will have to be at it to keep him quiet

it’s the reason I really want a CB in for that first game as it will allow Hume to stay at right back, reinildo at left back and an other with Ballard at centre half

I don’t see us not bringing in a centre half for West Ham. Will be nearly 3 months since promotion by then and if we go into that game with only Ballard and seelt as natural centre halves (we knew onien and alese wouldn’t be ready and Meptham was leaving) then that would be extremely poor by the club imo. Even if Mandava fills in, to then play jones at left back or Huggins in his first competitive game in nearly 2 years would be disappointing for me.

Not panicking about it, would have liked it to have been addressed in the last couple of weeks, but a quality signing won’t need much to settle it, Mepthams debut last year showed that.

Not the clubs fault if no one we want is available or wants to come here. Can't really say the club has been laid back and not pushing for players

right back for Bologna. need them to sign a centre back!

Never said they are laid back and not pushing, they’ve done very well in every other area of the squad and acted decisively.

But since the play off final we’ve only had two fit senior centre halves, one of which would likely have been 5th choice last season in the championship.

There will be quality players available as shown with our business so far. I’m confident we’ll get one done before West Ham.

The way I see it we’re linked with just about everybody, there’s no way we could buy them all, so just chill the centre half’s will come, and they’re probably not even named on here or by a journalist yet imho
Tbf our only concrete CB links right now were Diakite and Lucumi. Bade we had interest but plenty reports saying he wants a CL club
