In more good news for the Cheetophile, the New York Times has unearthed a second Epstein birthday book and is posting images from it, this one from 2016 and featuring letters from Steve Bannon, Woody Allen and Noam Chomsky That would be the same Noam Chomsky whose response when asked in 2023 if he met Epstein was "None of your business"
I believe Trump had a tv show that allowed him to tell contestants "You're fired!" Should the "honest" peoples of America be telling him that!?
Woody Allen's case is more nuanced and he is unlikely to be a similar figure to some of those mentioned.
One of my main gripes about it is the acceptance that people need some protection up to the age of 18, online and in the courts for example. But apparently have the capacity to vote at 16? It's completely the wrong way round. There should be nothing that has a higher age requirement than voting. And it is devalued by allowing 16 year olds to vote, and completely hypocritical considering what 16 year olds cannot do. (Incidentally for those that mention joining the army, yes you can at 16 but you can't fight until you are 18.) Our first past the post voting system is already devaluing our vote by leading to massive (seat) majorities for a small proportion of the electorates votes, lets not devalue it any further. I promise you that even if 16 year olds wanted to vote exactly the same way I do I would be against it. I would also like to have civics lessons at school, so people know how important the vote is, and what taxes are for etc.
Fact is, you can pay taxes working full time at 16. Therefore you deserve your say in how those taxes are raised and spent. No taxation without representation.
One thing I can't help but notice the Online Snooping Act is blatantly overlooking: gambling ads are still everywhere Oh, so we're protecting kids from harmful material - except for the betting industry, they still get free reign to hook youngsters in
The older electorate are often badly informed, especially those who rely on the MSM for their news. 16 year olds are easily capable of having a well-formed political view and have the most investment in the future. Of course they should be able to vote.
...so it's a ****ing brilliant idea to then put half the internet behind Hadrian's Firewall to limit the information they are getting
I've more faith in the average 16 year old using their vote in an informed manner than the average 75+, 80+, etc. Most people reaching those ages just want the life that they think they remember from 60+ years ago.. As you say, 16 year old have a critical stake in what happens in the years ahead.
Again : 1. The age of "ascent" should be 17 (all current adult rights ages adjusted up/downwards accordingly) . 2. The minimum voting age would be 16 + 1 = 17 (16 years old, then one full year of military service or paying work taxes) . 3. Mandatory voting, with "none of the above" / "indifferent" being options on the ballot for elections/referendum respectively.
She is actually Andre Previn's daughter. The issue is that he was married to her mother, but never lived together with her as a family. They married and are still together today. The mother Mia Farrow is a divisive figure as many claim she tells lies about him in vengeance. It is all a bit tacky and suspicious but (I would suggest) nothing like Epstein or Tump. Farrow did accuse Allen of abusing one of their children, but a full investigation exonerated him.
In even more bad news for Trump, Big Balls got the absolute **** kicked out of him The fact this sentence makes perfect sense in context is yet another reason the Mayflower should've gone the way of the Lusitania
Slight issue with people trying to get around the USA of America: United Airlines' entire fleet is grounded due to an IT glitch with thousands of flights cancelled Also today in the skies over America... please log in to view this image
And the reality is that most bad political decisions are made to appease the selfish, self-centred older generation who want the government to look after their own interests. That is why we don’t take the steps required on climate change, are afraid to challenge policies on pensions and taxing wealth etc. An unpopular policy could lose a party the whole grey vote in a stroke…
