VvD was a £13m player himself. As was Mane, Tadic, Pelle, Wanyama etc well did very well in the area at that time. I suppose it would be in the £22m region today.

I do think - if I was Rudoni - what's in it for him? Sure you go to a team who's more likely to get promotion but one more good season in a team where he's the main man and he'll be in the PL anyway. I just sense that's a tricky transfer for us to pull off.

If we overpay a little, force Coventry's hand and they want him moved then that's different.
