It’s frustrating when Sunderland are making new signings every few days. nobody knows if any signing will work but the recruitment team will have their preferences... agree you should only enquire about players you would be willing to take but truth is we're blind to how interested we really were in player x or y. it’s frustrating that we’ll start the season seemingly lacking any X factor or depth up front will just have to reserve judgement to when the window closes… or realistically by Christmas when we’ve seen them play for a period whether our strategy has worked.

Sunderland have overpaid on literally all their signings so far and are taking some big risks ... they are also paying too much on wages, but they have to as hot favourites to go down ... yes, they got some money in from sales, but still chancing it
I agree with a lot of what you post but to say the Chelsea lad is not better than Joseph, we will have to agree to disagree on that one. Betting will always change as players join or don't join. If the transfer window closed today, we would finish bottom with a lower points tally than Ipswich, Leicester and Southampton. I am not fearful we won't get players in, I am fearful of throwing away early points because of delay, if a team is in the bottom three after 5 games I bet they rarely get out
