Just reading that James Trafford is being re-signed by Man City from Burnley.

    This paragraph caught my attention.
Must have been our only point of note last season. We still lost though.<doh>

He also set a new Championship record of 12 consecutive shutouts between December and February before he was finally beaten in a 2-1 victory at Cardiff City at the start of March.

    Okay you miserable gits.

Who else, like me, will admit to watching the England Ladies winning the Euros tonight, for the second time.

In my mind a great achievement.

Not the best footballers but the best team!!!

    This miserable git didn’t.

Because we’ll never hear the end of it. Did you know they’re calling for a bank holiday because they won. Oh and they’ll all probably be made dames in the honours list.

Now if that was Wales or Ireland…

    Jealous or what?

They asked for a public holiday but got turned down. Pubs in England allowed to stay open to 1.00pm tonight. Cue riots everywhere.

Don't know about dames? From what I've read some could be made dukes. Batting for the other side if you know what I mean. <whistle>

I did watch it. Agree it's a heck of an achievement to retain the title but absolutely NOT the best team...
Spain were head and shoulders better but lacked a finisher.

England have done what we used to do under Buluts so often, hang on in there and somehow grind out a win.

I actually said to Mrs Brizzle during the Sweden game (when they were 2-0 down and she'd written them off) that I could see them turning that game around and then going on to win it (ie the tournament)...
They just had the grit, never say die attitude and the bit of good fortune you need.

As I said, not the best footballers but the best team.

Your last sentence sums it up well BB. Bit more like a Warnock side than a Bulut one.

Funnily enough I was thinking the same thing yesterday.

The "Tan out" brigade need to tone down the rhetoric a little and realise that he isn't the "villain" they make him out to be.
He's a million miles from perfect and I think most of us would welcome him moving on if the right people were to take over, but tales like the Owls' one should also serve as a timely warning that the grass is rarely luscious and emerald in colour on the other side...

A touch of nearly deja vu for George Hirst tonight.

Cast your mind back to 2022. City are leading Blackburn in injury time when Ryan Allsop faces a penalty taken by Hirst and saves it.

Roll forward to 2025 and in injury time again Hirst steps up to take a spot kick against yes Ryan Allsop. This time he scores.
