Bloody hell Sid, what on earth are you on? First, I'm not a nut, hardly used cash in years. Second most folk are not technophobes and are comfortable using tech. However some people aren't. Some people think getting a ticket in the post is easier than having to deal with tech, a view I have some sympathy with. Would you bin those folk off, tell them unless they get a smartphone they can't go to the game, concert whatever, take a train? Don't ever go into politics Sid!
I’ve no idea why but every time I see that name I think of wrestling at madley street baths. Also I nearly drowned in the pool, that’s another story altogether…
Got knocked in at the deep end and then remembered I couldn’t swim… was not going so well, drinking more water than I could push either side of me to get to the edge, honestly thought I was gonna die. A girl grabbed hold of me and pulled me to the side, I can still taste that bloody water and that was a hundred years ago. No I didn’t end up marrying her but that’s another story lol
And maybe roller blading skating around listening to Tommy Steel singing "Well I never felt more like Singing the Blues"
A bit before my time our Tommy was, I’m more a joy division and stranglers man with a bit of Johnny cash thrown in….
I took my ex to Oslo to see the Foo Fighters about 10 years ago. The arena was just out of town, can’t remember the name, but it was a bus ride away. I didn’t take my cards out, I just took some cash hidden away. The arena was absolutely roasting and couldn’t even buy a water as it was card only. It was horrendous.
Amazingly that was my point to begin with, that NOT having digital options is the backwards bit, not that there shouldn't be cash.. But well done on your standard response complete with emoji.
See above. Ironic politics comment, plenty of politicians have pushed through initially unpopular policies that were in the public's best interest but not popular at the time. A Prime Minister of ours imposed our Goods & Services Tax (VAT equivalent) which was incredibly unpopular but, strangely enough, hasn't been repealed since.. But enough of politics.
I've said this on here before, I'm in NZ at present, neither by debit card nor credit card work here other that take money from an ATM. I've tried to pay for petrol, Supermarkets and general shops, the cards just get declined. I would be in a right mess if cash was not usable.
Saw my first naked boob at Madeley St baths. Girl from school 'accidentally' let one slip out of the side of her cozzie...
That seems strange, I've never had an issue using my credit card overseas but we're well off topic by now!
I saw the likes of Les Kellett, Adrian Street, Mick McNanus and Steve Logan at Madeley Street....BTW they weren't in the deep end..
