it seems there is 70,000 empty houses in the uk that are out of reach of genuine British [ younger generation ] affordability so Liebour are going to buy up enough to house over 45,000 ??? illegal boat people.
I believe that part of the "hotel agreement" is that the .gov is liable for reconcilliation of care /repair/loss/ etc when a hotel ceases to be under contract. so besides paying for "weekly housing fee" at end restoration bill could be as much as £80,000+ per a 50 room hotel . going by some of the TV programmes that "do up properties! "each one would cost around £15,000+ when they leave!

.gov by stating things like we will buy up the empty properties will increase the selling price .. so making it even harder for the Genuine British citizen to find the deposit and the mortgage ..........

    Absolute joke as per usual
If they want to get vacant properties used how about putting veterans and/or British homeless people in there

We’re being lied to as usual and we could stop the invasion but we won’t

The Democrats said they couldn’t solve the illegal immigration issue on the southern border because of all the legal red tape
Wallop, in comes Trump, not supposed to be here ? Right, out you go pronto and you’re not coming back

    Problem solved

So it can be done. Our Government chooses to be in awe of archaic laws that are 70 years old and not fit for purpose
The Greeks are the latest to stick 2 fingers up to the ECHR and are sending immigrants packing

Trump id warning that immigration may destroy Europe and he’s 100% right

labour entered power not as a an elected majority .gov far from it. THEY invented the mysterious £20bn black hole in a couple of weeks, a blackhole that many monetary experts have now had time to analyse and throw a cloak of of mystery over it ..........."? !the what blackhole!?"

but now after a years taxation and having paid out upto £15bn in the first few weeks of their chaotic reign on pay rises it emerges all their juggling and fibbing has indeed generated a new problem... the "gb energy squeeze" and failed tax rises [ as advised by most monetary experts would fail ] have indeed failed and now left a genuine £30bn blackhole in the public finances ... ..

Lets see.uuuuuuuuuuuummm ....... £15bn on pay rises........... 38bn? on GB energy ......... over £15bn on boat people .... ??? £ £5bn reduced tax income .................. WE NOW HAVE...................

................ Labour's favourite tax guru has renewed calls for a raid on capital gains to help plug an estimated £30 billion hole in public finances.
Arun Advani, who heads the Centre for the Analysis of Taxation think-tank and devised the hated family farms tax, says changes to the levy are an obvious way to raise cash from the richest people and would be more productive than a separate tax on wealth.
please log in to view this image

But critics say the proposals would instead drive away businesses and investors.

And data last week revealed previous moves to raise more money from the levy had led to a sharp fall in tax receipts.
Capital gains tax (CGT) is charged on the profit someone makes above a threshold when an asset they own, such as property or shares, is sold.

CGT raised £12.1 billion in the 2023-24 tax year but Mr Advani thinks that could be doubled if capital gains were taxed the same as income tax.

lets get real ... whatever next ........ instead of stopping the crossings etc they are setting up much needed and the increased number of officers [created by the previous .gov ] to monitor for "unrest " by the genuine British public to stand up against the "iron heeled we dont know what to do .gov" and protest at our hard earned and forever greatly taxed incomes to pay for the illegal freeloaders crossing the channel and getting paid free board and lodge and pocket, causing more crimes and stress in the areas and the luxuriously "get housed" in hotels where most vendors claim damage control is difficult and when proven where the Tv that caused almost£1000 of damage to a local British citizens car was thrown from was declined by the police to take action....... 2 teir policing from a 2 tier ex solicitor who is purportly leader? no not a leader......? mouth peice of todays .gov .....................

A national police unit will monitor social media for signs of anti-migrant disorder amid fears of a repeat of last summer’s riots across England.
Detectives from across the country will flag up the early signs of civil unrest under a beefed-up National Police Coordination Centre (NPoCC) in Westminster.

The new intelligence team is a response to the anti-migrant disorder across England and Northern Ireland after the murder of three young girls at a Taylor Swift-themed holiday club in Southport last July.
A fresh wave of demonstrations spread this weekend to Leeds, Norwich and Nottinghamshire after violent scenes last week outside a hotel housing asylum seekers in Epping, Essex.
The plan for a new police unit to track signs of such disorder were revealed on Sunday in a letter to MPs by the policing minister, Diana Johnson.
Johnson said the Home Office was “carefully considering” building a “national internet intelligence investigations team” as part of the NPoCC, which shares briefings on “nationally significant” demonstrations with police forces across England and Wales.
She said: “This team will provide a national capability to monitor social media intelligence and advise on its use to inform local operational decision-making.

When this bunch of charlatans are removed from power they should be prosecuted for wilfully misleading the house and the public re the state of the British finances

As for public disorder, who is surprised, with the way the country is being run ?

The Police have admitted they are unprepared for a Summer of unrest and the public are sick of everyone that comes here taking the piss out of the rest of the public who work for a living under the Stasi

it is only £35,000 [ more than most hard working British citizens earn per annum ] and like a very "low" estimate of true cost.

Sir Keir Starmer has been accused of “staggering” hypocrisy after flying to the Women’s Euros final in a private government jet.
The Prime Minister took the Government’s VIP Airbus A321 from London to Zurich on Sunday to arrive in time for the final of the tournament.
The journey, which cost taxpayers an estimated £35,000, arrived less than an hour before the next scheduled flight from London.

In opposition, Sir Keir criticised the Conservatives for their use of government jets, arguing that Rishi Sunak “doesn’t get” what the public want because “the view on the ground is very different to that from his private jet”. [Rishi used his own jet]
Rachel Reeves, the Chancellor, pledged at Labour’s party conference in 2023 to clamp down on official use of government planes to “save millions of pounds for taxpayers”.
But official figures released in June showed Labour ministers had spent three times more on domestic air travel in the first 10 months after the election compared with the equivalent period when Mr Sunak was prime minister
    .

In the past week 2 faced 2tier Granny Harmer has flown around 4 or 5 times in journeys which take just a couple of hours or less.. and regular flights have been available......

last year 2 TIER GRANNY HARMER over saw an average of around 870 weekly channel illegals................. IN JUST OVER 3 WEEKS the average number is currently 954 annual basic cost circa for these 954 is circa £60,000,000

an average worker getting above minimum wage on a 40 hour week [ lets say £14.50ph ] = would gross before tax's NI around £30,000 954 workers = £28,600,000 SO around all the tax and NI PAID BY 8,500 FUND the initial cost of them making it ...

If you sit on your arse and do nothing like Starmer, Sunak, Johnson, and May rather than a) forcefully stopping the boats and detaining all onboard them or b) making this country less attractive to people who want to come here and leech off of us it will never improve

with Trump coming up with a few home truth's ... a few on here have seen through the likes of Marv and Khan .. pocket liners and minority [ that is the fault of those that dont vote ] elected are imo inexpierinced self egoistic personages! Neither have actually achieved much positive .. in fact on a Duke of Wellington both need a second a sheet for the negative listings whilst the positive havent made it half way down the first sheet ... maybe a quarter!!?

peas in a pod a good comparison, "he's my friend" analysis of FREE LOADING 2 TIER GRANNY HARMER's visit to the football match.. not really a needed political representation?? should have paid for his own trip to the football match not charged us for the opportunity guess it would be free food and free tickets free beverage and a couple box's of Swiss chocolate, maybe!

The warning shots are being fired ...good on Greece
The right for anyone to request protection, or asylum, is inscribed in EU and international law and in the constitution of Greece itself. But in a move implemented in haste earlier this month and criticised by human rights lawyers, the government has over-ridden that principle for the next three months at least.
The new migration minister, Thanos Plevris, has told the BBC his country faces a "state of emergency". He warns of an "invasion" if Europe does not enact tough measures and talks of the need for strong deterrence.
"Anyone who comes will be detained and returned," he stresses.
Now even people fleeing war in Sudan are locked up with no chance to explain their story.

It's taking a brave nation like Greece to say 'enough' and to say 'we're not listening to international law, the ECHR, or the All Migrants Are Welcome brigade'

We need to man up, follow suit and stop this now

    Story by Harvey Jones ..
When Labour came to power after last year's general election, I harboured the faint hope they might actually know what they were doing. That evaporated in record time. On 22 July last year, I wrote a piece dismantling the PM's headline pledge to build 1.5million homes this Parliament - and predicted it would blow up in his face
As anyone with half a brain could see (even me!), the numbers simply didn't add up. Starmer handed deputy PM Angela Rayner the job of making it happen. Predictably, the whole thing has flopped.
A year on, the results are in. And I was right. That target will never be hit. Rayner won't even come close.

I didn't need a crystal ball. I just read housebuilder reports. Barratt Developments, the UK's biggest builder, completed just 14,004 homes in the year to June 2024. That was a drop of almost 20% on the previous year.
Persimmon built 10,664 homes in 2024. This year, it will complete 11,500 at most.
Taylor Wimpey delivered 10,593 homes last year. With luck, it may manage 10,800 this year.
These are the UK's three biggest housebuilders and they're nowhere near hitting Starmer's target.
To achieve his goal, Starmer needed a 63% increase in annual housebuilding, from 184,390 in 2024 to 300,000. That's clearly not going to happen.

The Home Builders Federation says the number of residential planning approvals actually fell by 37% in the first quarter of 2025. That's a 12-year low.

Every government that's tried to ramp up housebuilding has failed. Gordon Brown set a 240,000-a-year target in 2007. He managed 142,000.
Boris Johnson promised 300,000 a year and never came close. So what made Starmer and Rayner think they'd magically succeed where everyone else failed?
Answer: they didn't think. They just boasted.
This isn't a minor embarrassment. It's a total economic strategy fail.
Housebuilding was Labour's only real growth plan. Reeves and Starmer pinned everything on it. The Office for Budget Responsibility projected it would boost GDP by £3.4billion by 2030 - but only if completions jumped to 305,000 a year.
note... most of the houses built and still being built are carry overs from Tory . gov [ ***was to be built stopped by labour run council over 500 in Bristol !! ] SO AR has built very few maybe a couple thousand!!! out of a needed 305,000!!!!

Instead of incentivising builders, Reeves has driven up their costs, by hiking the minimum wage and employer's national insurance.

Meanwhile, the UK population rose by 706,000 over the last year as immigration surged, worsening the housing crisis. Labour's central growth plan is already falling apart, just as I warned.

And here's the scary bit: it was all they had.

Ed Miliband said green energy would lower gas and electricity bills and fuel growth, but costs will soar as the net zero bill rolls in.

Reeves's tax splurge is crushing growth. In desperation, she's hijacking our retirement savings to make a huge gamble on UK infrastructure, which is risky and will take years to pay off, if it ever does.
Rayner isn't just failing on housing. Her flagship Employment Rights Bill will heap another £5billion of costs onto struggling firms and trigger a flood of tribunal cases.

Labour's one big growth idea has flopped. Everything else will only make things worse. The numbers were clear to see at the start. Starmer and Rayner clearly didn't even glance at them.

Starmer and Rayner clearly didn't even glance at them.

    Why would they ?
The are financially illiterate, and despite 14 years in opposition still couldn’t succeed at a single thing in the first year
They are also oblivious to the concerns, wants. and needs of UK citizens and will literally put the health and well being of terrorists above ours

As for the Palestine argument, and recognising them
    It’s not our land !!
Nor is it France’s, the USA, Germany, Canada, Russia, Australia etc

    It’s Israel’s land

Unless Israel decides to give it up, it’s not ours to recognise, return or give away

It’s not colonial property to redistribute
It is Jewish ancestral land defended in war after war after war and paid for in blood

So reign it in Starmer and concentrate on your own avalanche of problems here at home and do something for the people of this country for once

as a solicitor you do not recognise the truth .. well actually you recognise the truth but ignore it, that is to say that as a defender of the accused he could be caught with a bloodied knife and finger prints at the scene and ignore it as the truth and vice versa ...THAT is why 2 tier granny Harmer cant get his head around the true facts of the situation........he has to be right, can never be wrong ... has no inkling of dealing with big money like over sat a few a few hundred£'s over £3 or 4 k.??????... let alone £m or £bn / £tn

dreaming up the £20bn fictitous black hole in the first 2 weeks or less gave him an excuse to fall back on and answer to a myriad of awkward Q's he doesnt have an answer for!....

immigration... was in hospital THURSDAY blue light ambulance spent 7 hours in BRI resus B was pretty happy with care although the same event a couple years ago saw me enter southmead hosp at 1625 was xrayed put to sleep and back awake problem sorted at 1705 BRI arrived at circa 0930 and not put to sleep, given a very quick, like 3 second painkiller!!!! at 1145 when my problem finally sorted by 1146. Simply going by appearance there was maybe just less than 50/50 split "foreign looking" about 60% however at least 2 nurses were European, AND COMPLETING THEIR TRAINING. not being a racist I APPRECIATED ALL THAT THEY DID FOR ME and others in the 6? beds of resus B.

THESE PEOPLE ALL HAVE A RIGHT TO BE HERE, they dedicate 3/4 years or more training, the trainee [was actually officially a nurse ] looked out for me goes home and studies to better her self aged 23 no boyfriend rarely goes out with friends for a drink... studies!

these are people we need ............ because born and bred british with a family history going back 4/5 or more generations are not providing the school leavers to become the FN's we used to have in our hospitals 3 or 4 decades ago!

Rachel Reeves has attacked the Conservatives 34 times in the Commons for leaving Britain with a "£22billion black hole" - but a respected economic watchdog has now warned of a looming £50bilion "gap" in UK finances. The Chancellor's woes have worsened with warnings that tax hikes and spending cuts of more than £50billion a year will be needed to plug a budget deficit and preserve Britain's "buffer" against financial turmoil.

Ms Reeves has been blasted for coming to office without a "clear plan" with experts saying "substantial tax increases" will be needed in the autumn Budget if she is to avoid breaking her fiscal rules. The National Institute of Economic and Social Research (NIESR) claims Ms Reeves faces an "impossible" set of choices - and warns the cost-of-living crisis is not over, with the living standards of the poorest people in Britain falling.
Despite Labour's pro-growth rhetoric, the watchdog forecasts the economy will grow by just 1.3% this year and 1.2% next year. David Aikman, the director of NIESR, laid bare the nightmare choices facing the Chancellor.
He said: "Simply put, the Chancellor cannot simultaneously meet her fiscal rules, fulfil spending commitments, and uphold manifesto promises to avoid tax rises for working people. At least one of these will need to be dropped - she faces an impossible trilemma."

WELL THERE WE HAVE IT what is labour so so SO famous for building up? massive debts ... remember the note left ..."sorry no money just short of a £trn to find!!!!"
the clerk from the bank along with "Milliband multi failed" and 2 Tier I ONLY REALLY WANTED THE FREEBIES has us screwed ...... LOOK OUT FOR poverty and immigrants getting well fed watered and free everythings........ whilst our own true british population get peeeeeeeeeeeeeed on

In a sane and focused society we would tear up the human rights laws and stop lawyers preventing us from deporting violent sex offending criminals, rip up the welfare bill to save tens of billions and stop spaffing yet more billions on immigration
Shame that we don’t live in a sane and focused society !

    following on..

However, the think tank notes that raising around £50billion is the equivalent of hiking the basic and higher rates of income tax by five percentage points.
Mr Millard blasted Labour for arriving in power without a "clear plan".
He said: "We had known for a year or two, I think, that Labour were going to be elected. So, the really disappointing thing from my point of view was that when Labour came in there didn't seem to be a plan on the table."

He warned it is impossible to "junk the fiscal rules" because this would lead to market upheaval and "we would have another Liz Truss moment".

    BASIC TAX AT 25%!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rwanda has reached an agreement to receive 250 undocumented immigrants expelled from America as part of President Trump's extensive deportation initiative.
The East African nation will utilise housing facilities initially constructed for Britain's abandoned asylum seeker transfer programme, which consumed £700 million in taxpayer funds.
The arrangement, finalised in June, grants Rwandan officials authority to assess potential arrivals before acceptance.
Those selected will benefit from employment preparation, medical services and housing assistance upon arrival.

THATS 250 x 52 week saving [ on going ] ... £15,000,000 saved probably deterred another 4-500 from coming so around £45-50,000,000 SAVED

    [ BEAR IN MIND it was not just 250 for that £700,000,000 but a few 000's say 2500 = ??? £500,000,000 ]

We are borrowing unfashionable amounts of money and the lunatics have taken over the asylum as this money will never be repaid, because, even if taxes do go up, and they will, to fill another black hole that this government have created, Labour will find another scheme to spend even more and deliver less
