    Ambient music pioneer Derbyshire in 1964 put out this and several other pieces onto the radiowaves, to an audience I can only imagine was creeped the hell out. She is truly significant in the early development and experimentation of electronic music and this is a ****ing surreal listen, even when compared with today's best ambient-drone artists. Got headphones? Got an old silent surrealist film ready to watch along with some music? This is worth it.

    I was supposed to see them in newport earlier this year, but i couldn't get anyone to go with me, and i hate going to gigs on my own. So i missed out unfortunately.

    Yeah I was stunned when I first heard it, she had some really interesting ideas that were well, well ahead of her time. Still give her recordings regular spins now when I'm ambient bingeing.
