Agree, in modern football tactics he’s not good enough defensively to play the DM roles and not really creative enough for an AM role. Is fine in a CM role (eg in a CM, DM, CM midfield ) but hasn’t really had that opportunity much with us
This was my reaction years ago to Jermaine Jenas being in the England squad for a major tournament. Just an all round OK midfielder who is exactly as you described - lacking attributes of a DM or AM. That was worse in my mind back then as we played with two in midfield and he was going to be a sub and there was no way he could realistically change a game
I liked the post as I would be happy getting him off the books and look for an alternative more dynamic player. He did have some good moments with us though and I appreciate that.
So Ipswich reject £35 million pound bid for Hutchinson. Everton now inquire for Grealish but City want all his wages covered which is approximately £15-£16 million per year. Think the Dibling deal may look a bit more of a bargain to them now?? And What is Fernandes going to be worth when you consider AC Milan have just paid almost £40 for a Swiss CDM who has just had one season in the Belgium 1st Division.
Yep. Especially in the playoffs. Scored the first against West Brom. And set up Adarma in the final. Been through rough times too with his alopecia. Really hope he gets a decent move.
This ^^ Good luck to him if he goes. Southampton player, Southampton fan and Southampton born. Got to do something everyone on this forum would dream of: Lift the roof off a packed St Mary's with a screamer. If that is all I did in my football career it would be more than enough.
You've done it now, it'll just be Everton pissing around over a few extra million and still not offering enough when the window creaks tiredly to a close
I don't know that I do. I wouldn't want him to go to a club that he might build a career at (a Liverpool/City level club). Rather he went to Everton, did really well, and was sold on to one of those for absolute bagloads, so we make a tidy sum on the sell on deal.
Yeah, two years at Everton and then he refuses to sign a new deal and Newcastle come in and offer £100m, please
Lesley is a good midfielder as we know. He has the size and technical ability to do well in the PL. Thing is Burnley are almost destined to get relegated this season so it's an interesting choice on his part...
Feels like Dibbling transfer getting near doesn't it? All but a transfer request if reports to be believed. We need to be prepared that Fernandes could do the same. Feels like we then want to move on from Smallbone, Edozie, Aribo and possibly Wood. In which case we'd need three top quality permanent additions plus a handful of loans we hope could give some x-factor. All that whilst ideally adding some leadership and know-how. Go earn your money Johannes!!
Rumour that Dibling has handed in a transfer request: https://www.everton.news/tyler-dibl...outhampton-with-fresh-everton-transfer-twist/
"According to one club insider..." You always know its probably bollocks when you see this sentence. EDIT: But I admit it's starting to feel inevitable.
True and I’m struggling to believe that he’s training away from the first team because he’s protecting an injury.
