Totted up the votes. This is the official Player Of The Season .. So Far ... Result. Winner should have a nice warm feeling and should perform a damn sight better than they did at the weekend in future! Result will shock absolutely no-one, I reckon. 8.9 James Chester (High=10, Low=7) 8.7 Robert Koren (High=10, Low=8) 8.1 Liam Rosenior (High=9, Low=7) 7.9 Jack Hobbs (High=9, Low=7) 7.7 Paul McKenna (High=9, Low=6.5) 7.5 Matt Fryatt (High=9, Low=6) 7.3 Aaron McLean (High=9, Low=6) 7.2 Adriano Basso (High=8, Low=6) 7.2 Joe Dudgeon (High=8, Low=6) 7.0 Corry Evans (High=8, Low=6) 6.3 Andy Dawson (High=7, Low=5) 6.1 Robbie Brady (High=7, Low=5) 6.1 Tom Cairney (High=7, Low=5) 5.5 Peter Gulacsi (High=7, Low=4) 8.2 Cameron Stewart (High=10, Low=6) All but 4 of the squad average 7+. In my days of playing Championship Manager, I'd have been pretty pleased with that.
Have to disagree, hobbs as been a rock this season. What about burnley, chester was at fault for two of the goals.
I didn't say he was faultless, just that he's been our best central defender(up until the last few games, as Chester seems to have dropped off a bit since Pearson left). I think you'll be a bit of a lone voice on this thread, he's generally considered our player of the season so far.
Over the season so far Chester edges Hobbs as for me Hobbs didn't start too well, Hobbs has really impressed in the last few matches. Basing it on the last few matches Hobbs would be higher then Chester and Gulacsi would be up there.
Nice to see us arguing about who is the best player for a change. If you go on Ipswich board they're arguing about who is the biggest sack o' ****e (Bullard, in my opinion, pound for pound).
Never thought I would say this because I usually like my attacking players but for me Mckenna would be up there had he not started slowly, looking brilliant at the moment.
I'd agree with this, both have been good over the course of the season but for me Chester looks more composed on the ball
Rosenior is the most consistent player in our squad by a country mile. Week in week out both going forward and at the back. Stewart is our most exciting player and most likely to create something, its no coincidence that our purple patch has coincided with his return to fitness.
No suprises up there at all, and it feels very good for us to be talking about who our best performers have been and seeign high scores for nearly every player.
I disagree with that completely, Chester for me has had two bad games, where as Hobbs has had two good games during that time so all of a sudden he is better. Chester is a different class, and the only reason we feel he has being bad since NP left is due to the standards he has set. Every player has two bad games now and again and this is chesters time.
This may sound odd, but I'm glad to see Brady so low. Everyone I hear seems to vvank about him yet whenever I've seen him he's been schite. Glad to see the hype isnt rubbing off on people's ratings. And top 4 are nailed on top 4 come the end of the season although I can see Koren or Rosie winning it.
I'm defo up for that. We'd be right more often than not. I'm a big Hobbs fan, he is a rock. But come on Chester is PL quality no doubt about it, his tackling is one of the best I've seen live from any player. Stops the attack dead time after time. I think it's harsh on Brady tbh. He had some great games and then some **** ones and has missed 3 games. If he'd been suspended/crap at the start of the season and had his best games lately we'd all be bumming over him.
I agree with the thing about Brady everyone has thought about the last 6 games when they did the ratings (Hence why Mckenna is so high) and not about the games before them really. They should all count equally surely?
