If we signed Wissa, Thiaw and kept Isak (and somehow managed to make him happy again the ****) how would we all feel? (I’d be surprised if we signed anyone)
Isak is playing to get to the world cup. He'll therefore not down tools as some think. If anything he will be extra motivated to ensure he plays regularly, stay fit and score. Sell him next summer unless he commits to the club long term.
So that’s 7 confirmed rejections, this summer, potentially as many as 14 in the past year. Still at least we managed to secure a loan from Southampton. Let’s see what the dynamic leadership team attempt next. Interesting that Openda is still linked, I felt we should’ve gone for him a month or so ago (I heard rumour and said such that we were considering it) as he’s a good foil. Samu might be ok. My preference would be to keep Isak and spend the Sesko money on both Hojlund and Openda.
As embarrassed as I do now. It’s been worse than imagined. No idea how we went from “transformative” and “move quickly” (Howe) to this ****ing mess!!
Agree with a lot of this minus Hojlund. Just don’t think he’s cut out for the PL. Seems to be a pure confidence player and let’s outside noise affect him to much.
So is Sesko and Man U are a mess. They’ve got three new forwards that all have to somehow work together, in a stupid formation with a crap midfield and défense and keeper behind them!!! I’m gutted we’ve lost out on players and don’t say this because I’m jealous, but Sesko is going to find it far harder at Man U and it’s bewildering why players are making these choices.
If you'd asked me at the start of the window would I be happy with: Wissa in - Wilson out Elanga in - Longstaff out Ramsdale in - Dubs / Vlach out Thiaw in A few young signings for the future. Keep hold of all our starting XI players. Then yes, I would have more than settled for that. It's 3 new first team starters and an upgrade for Isak's cover, plus some youth to develop. Covers RW, CB, GK and striker cover - positions we all highlighted. The issue has been we've looked bad chasing big name players and not getting them. We've shown real ambition in terms if targets, but the failures/rejections reflect badly. That aside, then I think the above list would have made for a positive summer.
I’m sick of seeing the word rejected. If we ended up like Man City in prime pep years would we miss ‘the chase’ and the wheeling and dealing? A bit like Del Boy when he wins all the money but gets bored
Their front 3 absolutely pisses on ours by the way. They will be challenging for Europe with one or two more signings. Us, we are heading for top 10 and an absolute drubbing in CL and player burn out. How can we judge Man U when we are an utter **** show!
No definitely not that. Im just a NUFC fan that has seen PIF and the leadership team take a fan base from the ultimate high to the ultimate low within 5 months. People put their head in the sand but when it comes down to it, have a look at the official announcements from the leadership, CEO etc in past 18 months.......it's like a wasteland. How hard is it to announce that the new CEO is X subject to visa clearance etc etc. This club is leaderless and it shows massively
Ultimate low? **** off. Failing to get Hamza Chowdhury on loan was pretty low. Signing Xisco and Nacho to push out KK was low. We're nowhere near low
