The thing that makes me laugh about all this is simply that we keep getting dicked on for players, as we're not able to offer the same in wages as the other clubs due to PSR. It's not rocket science, and it's as it is in any other form of employment. If you can earn 30% more round the corner, you do. It would be very interesting to see who only wants who if the parameters on wage structure were equal.
It’s weird because you’ve just won a cup and are a champions league team. You have the richest owners but they seem to have no idea how to run a football club and have folk who aren’t capable to work at the level your club is at and where it’s aiming to be. You seem to be incredibly **** at selling the club to potential players and closing a sale quickly. I don’t think it’s all just down to wages. I have a feeling there’s something going on at that club which us outside the game have no idea about. Players really don’t seem interested in moving there and there’s got to be a reason for it.
I don't think it's as complicated or nefarious as you're insinuating. The issue isn't so much that we just cannot sell the football club and we walk around clueless about how to sign a football player, we have signed plenty of very good footballers in the past couple seasons and have improved because of that. It's more so the level of footballers we approach means we will inevitably have to go up against an elite football club to sign them. If we don't get Sesko, we aren't losing out on a world class player to Everton, we are losing out on a world class player because we are up against Man Utd. They're one of the richest and most successful clubs on the planet. I think we are in a very similar position to Villa, we are in and about the top teams and we have money, but we don't have the draw yet to truly compete on a 1v1 basis at the negotiations table. None of this is helped at all by the Geordie's who get reeled in by nonsense articles which go in insane details about negotiations and proposed contracts that even a single bit of critical thinking would make you realise it's completely made up bollocks.
Money talks. Which clubs have we lost out to? Those with the sky high wage bills. I know it's your prerogative to dress it up in a more comical way, but that's the size of it in the main - the wages are a huge factor. It's precisely why Sesko will certainly join Manchester United, despite the trajectory / stability of the clubs - greed. Closing out sales quickly is easy when you're pretty much the only one / the biggest fish at the table. When you're competing for your targets vs those that can offer better packages, it's quite the battle.
We are the football meme of the moment and the other fans have the embrace it it is the circle of life
@Saf Sunderland are keen to sign former Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin on a free transfer although the 28-year-old Englishman wants to wait to see if any other Premier League clubs are interested. (Talksport)
The delusion on here is extreme to say the least. You had plenty of time to sign Ekitike and Sesko but you ****ed about with lowballing offers. You didn’t close the sale quickly. Sometimes you just have to pay a little bit extra and get the deal done.
I heard on here the Saudis have been told they can’t deal with Liverpool. Looks like they’re now topping up the Liverpool funds to go and sign Isak.
