...and his assumption that Pakistan was the only -stan country sported the kind of ignorance he was trying to accuse Strov of. Can't argue with that. Oh and Bob's last comment sums it up beautifully. Especially how he didn't realise there was anything from with offering a jew a ham sandwich, because they aren't a taboo group.
Anybody here know if Robert Koren is Jewish, his name is Jewish-sounding? Corens in the UK usually are. I tried to check this but only seen hints online. I was wondering if we ever had a Jewish player play for us before. Answers on a postcard please!
Are you sure you don't mean Cohen? I don't think he is Jewish, but I'm sure we'll have had several Jewish players, like Amr Zaki.
I'm not sure really, I thought Ibrahimovic was Jewish as that name sounds it, Roman Abramovich is, but he isnt.
I think it was Ghilas that was the discussion point for us with Zaki. I know he's Muslim, but I think the issue was more that he was Algerian, I seem to remember defending that part slightly on the basis that there could be political history that meant it would be like in late 1940s Britain asking someone who'd lost a brother in WWII to work alongside a former German soldier.
You have it right Ricardo, I knew there was some issue there. X, I would imagine that Wilbraham is Jewish with that name so as far as I know he is the first and only Jewish player we have had, unless somebody can prove differently?!
Zaki also refused to play will Belhadj at Pompey as he was Algerian and the reason stated at the time was due to the fighting between the two in a match just before his proposed move.
old news to fill up a chip shop wrapper and you fell for it. he is under contract until 2013 @ hull city. why do you need our players anyway ? you have the best squad in the league, well so says ProudFox and AKCJ et al.
