yeh. Hummel and the club ****ed up by not knowing the rules and then Hummel ****ed up by not coming up with a solution to it. Really not good enough.
It’s not a bad take you’re right. Bet it’s not long before fans are ripping us when we are on Sky etc. just looks **** man haha
I don't even know why it's a rule. Surely the numbers could be outlined or something to make them stand out more? It's not like striped kits are new. Got to be something better than a fully blocked or partially blocked back.
It’s for foreign broadcasters apparently. not defending it, the rule is stupid. but it’s like the yellow card for taking your shirt off - everyone should know the rule.
Not giving Hummel another penny because you don't like their solution is a bit extreme in my opinion Literally they only thing they've done wrong
please log in to view this image Just looks a lot nicer like this design wise and like it actually fits.
Some people aren’t so into kits so this will look extreme to most. I can ignore it as it’s their first mistake like. I wonder if we could make proper versions and introduce them mid season?
Absolute ****e rule. There’s no good way to deal with it either. From bibs, to solid backs to two tier replica shirts. It’s all ****e. At least we haven’t gone for the dalgleish era shields!
Absolutely dreadful. But if we did a Brentford it wouldn’t be all that much better. It still leaves parents pressured to upgrade to the match replicas, or worse still every single fan looking like a clown with a blank back on their non striped Sunderland shirt. Premier league thinking of the fans once again!
Sure I saw pictures of Bournemouth in that Premier League pre season thing with the number with stripes on the back. Surely if it's that big a deal they would've made sure they played with a plain back
I don't know about global laughing stock I really don't think your average fan cares nor notices Wait till you see the balls up with the third kit, pleated shorts
Wasn’t it said it was a workaround while Hummel did a redesign? And why Hummel haven’t got more kit deals? They have stacks of them throughout Europe, they are tiny compared to Adidas and Nike they punch well above their weight deals wise. Kit was likely designed before they knew we were PL. I agree they need to be sharper but its not that massive a drama.
Never a laughing stock, it's the back of the shirt most other teams fans won't give 2 f**ks about it Doesn't impact the brand 1 bit imo, our shirt sales are with the strips so won't impact the brand at all imo It looks crap in the pictures, will see what it looks like in real life before judging
I might be wrong but I think the rules only apply to those of us with white stripes. Clubs with two dark stripes are allowed to have white numbers
