Like most sports these days, it's more and more about the money.

So, 2 very close and 2 in the pipeline.

If trott comes in and Turner was 1st choice above Alnwick and Horvath, the latter two need to leave.

You also wonder what happens with Ng if we're looking at a RB. I'd rather see Kpakio stay than go on loan.

Dalman talking of two permie signings and 2 loans. Not sure which he classed Trott as.
Better to play our youngsters rather than someone else's on loan.

A long season and the form of youngsters will ebb and flow so need a bit of experience in there.

It also reports that Salach and Robinson aren’t going anywhere but no mention of Robertson who surely will be targeted in this window?

Pompey would like him back there.

I say give him infection in his injury lasting a month. That would do the trick.

When Masky makes love to his ladies and sometimes your wives, he can take a while arriving too, doesn’t mean to say he’s not coming eh?

You do wonder who makes some of these signings.
Doesn't seem like the managers wanted them in the first place.

Saying that, the time it takes us to complete a signing, and the rate we turn over managers, the board could have been signing a player for two managers ago.<doh>

How much have we wasted on unwanted players?
On second thoughts, how much have we wasted on poor players. Though to be fair, some of the players were good before they arrived and good after they left.
Re-word it. How much have we wasted on inappropriate players.

    Start again.
How many unsuitable players has the board approved the wasting of money on?

I don't know, it's got to one of the above.<yikes>

Sound logic, though if someone offered £6m for Robertson, I'd take it. I'm not sure he's worth that to us. Is he £4m better than Turnbull?
I agree that we're well stocked in CM even if we lost one of the two mentioned above.
CB and LB are probably the priorities in my opinion.

Gyabi looks interesting. 6ft 5ins, a box to box midfielder who had a whole season on loan at Plymouth last season so used to EFL rough and tumble. The main negative aspect is lack of end product in terms of goals and assists - but he was in a struggling side.

At 21 he fits BBM's profile for younger players to develop. Likely to be a few EFL clubs interested.

    Just looking at the squad.
11 of the 24 listed by the club have come through the academy.
    Pretty good stat.

As for more signings, a couple more experienced players please. We have enough "ones for the future".

I’m not knocking Turnbull but does anyone know what his best position is? Yes I know he was injured a lot last season but is he really a good fit for us?

As for Robertson does anyone agree he flattered to deceive last season? From what I’ve seen pre season he didn’t impress & gave the impress he’s a phone call away from leaving.

Just a point: unsure if he’s got a relationship with BBM from his Man City days that may influence whether he stays?

Agree about Robertson last season. Never inspired confidence in me that he could live up to his supposed pedigree on the pitch. If he stays he'll have to step up big time for me, and not just live on his past Man City connection and the oft repeated quote that his uncle is Gavin Rae.

Turnbull is a bit of a mystery man. Personally I don't think he's been given a fair crack of the whip in the past. When you couple that with the bad hamstring pull he suffered when he was just starting to feature more on the pitch rather than on the bench, I think there's mileage in him.

Not sure what that breach of dispiline was about, but there's always a danger if players think they're better t han they are - that could be a problem that he and BBM have to resolve.
