Maybe you're right about the highest paid player ever thing, but I'd be a bit surprised - and worried - if that turns out to be the case. It's been widely reported that Bullard was on between £40k-£50k p/w and I suspect a couple of others during our prem years such as Ryan Mason would have been on similar. I know wages in the Championship are much higher generally these days but paying McBurnie c£50k p/w in the Championship given our current predicament unnerves me somewhat. Still, looking forward to seeing him play if he does sign.
What particularly makes mcburnie a mercenary mate? No different to any other pro isn’t he Unless you know something?
We cannot get another forward unless we pay 4-8m even if we are allowed , then wages on top - so like the Allams wanted Barmby to do - find a free and pay good wages rather than a fee that can be gone in a freak one like Mason , Brady , et al and the rest who got long term injuries
And look at the cost of some of the crap we got rid of, what was Amrabat and Pedro and Sinik costing us I would rather we pay someone like McBurnie the wage knowing he will probably do his job and score plenty.
He’s ****ed us about all summer. The club have decided to keep going higher and higher with the contract offer and I think it’s a huge mistake. The club should’ve moved on weeks ago instead of pandering to him and his agent. I understand players and agents look out for their own interests and try to get the best deal but I think we’ve had our pants pulled down here. I don’t like it, especially after everything that has gone on this summer.
im told….Bullard 44k…McB 45k highest paid city player ever. Approved by the EFL. But it scares me tbh…we don’t have prem income like we did for Bullard….it just increases the debt…significantly
For that wage And being on that much more than the other players I expect at least 15 goals this season from him Must be weird for one player being on far more than the others within the squad
Its about opinions matey, not eyes, if he does actually sign shall we give him a chance before we get the pitchforks out and burn him at the stake?
Shiny new thing and all forgiven I suppose Seems to be what we need and hopefully will stay fit But yes the finances are still a mess and acuns probably thinking promotion nailed on now
We should pay £5m for a striker and give him a three year contract on £8k a week in wages. Much better value.
I wonder what Enis is thinking right now, people say that he was promised first 11, which is very unlikely with McBurnie around, I hope Acun won't turn him into Sinik, because this kid is really talented.
Yeah and my opinion is he’s not worth the salary we’ve offered him. Who said anything about pitchforks? It’s the club’s fault for offering such a ridiculous contract, not McBurnie’s.
