With nearly 20k there on Saturday and 2k+ on a Thursday (when was the last time we played on a Thursday?), the fans don't seem to have been put off. Maybe the disappointment of relegation has been offset by the encouragement of a new style of play and a raft of home grown talent.
The 20K on Saturday was a suprise to me. I can just assume they'd all decided like me to give the new man a fair shot at it in his first game at the CCS. As it turned out, we were rewarded with a new brand of positive football, so far away from the relentless slog of last season. Early doors, but up till now, the guy looks focused on what he wants to do and how he wants to achieve it. I can't see me going to any away games again this season for reasons more than just choice, but I've got another 22 games at the CCS which for the first time in quite a few seasons, I'm quite looking forward to.
I hope the loyal fans are well rewarded. Entertaining football has been lacking in recent years. B B-M has been consistent in his message and early signs are positive. A very long way to go, but the first steps have been taken. If he can deliver on half his vision we'll be a long way forward. Being pessimistic, if he delivers on half his vision, he might not be with us for long. The board need to buy into the vision and ensure continuity.
