Downie might not have been briefed at all by the club, surely he can get the info from all the flight tracking stuff just like others on here?
You're right but the transfer window thread would be pretty boring if we weren't allowed to analyse the impact of why our "confirmed" signings have been delayed! We'd have nowt to talk about this morning.
Downie would not post transfer info based on guessing a flight on the flight tracker is Guiu. He would have been told that was the case by his sources. They have spoke about this multiple times how they have to get multiple sources befotre deciding to say anything or report anything
I think we’re at a stage, good in my opinion, whereby the club try to control the narrative and keep things to a minimum … … too much information is sometimes worse than too little, although supporters probably won’t agree.
Yeh I agree completely re: controlling the narrative, but that's why I think if it was weather related they'd say so - that's controlling the narrative. Not giving a reason is letting idiots like me speculate.
In general. He seems to jump the gun and I personally don’t think he’s always as reliable as folk make out.
No absolutely not, they'd never comment publicly until the signing is signed and scarf pic'd. But journalists all reported he'd fly yesterday and then Keith reported the flight has been postponed for unknown reasons. At that point to control the narrative the club would give a reason to Keith to report but they didn't. Now of course, Keith was off work yesterday and could have literally been checking flight radar. Could be anything. All I'm saying (and its literally all I'm saying), is that weather as a reason doesn't add up for me. And that's for multiple reasons, not least because the weather yesterday was pretty decent and private flights took off and landed all day.
Yeah and the flight in question, changed destination to fly back to Salzburg so not sure weather related would make sense
Sorry I started the weather debate. My mates train from Devon got cancelled first thing today though because of high winds so that’s what made me think it. Let’s just see what happened.
love a good transfer twist. Here's an example of where a transfer has been "done" TWICE... and then had a twist. Akpom was HERE WE GO to Birmingham when Boro came in. Then he chose Birmingham and it was back to HERE WE GO Now Ipswich have come in...
Just a guess but I think the club probably has better things to do ... ... once you start reporting everything that's happening you sometimes create noise around every situation. Realistically, if the player's situation has changed we'll be straight onto the next in my opinion.
nowt wrong, couple of colleagues where going to fly up north for a conference/to see family and their flight got cancelled yday afternoon, and they were due to fly at 10am today
