He came in and started a **** storm off. Whether he thought that things were being done correctly or not that sort of thing should have been dealt with indoors so he was unprofessional at the very least. We can factually all agree on this. He then reneged on a promise to Alexander Isak with regards the talks of a new contract. We can all agree to this as we’re witnessing what the fallout is currently. So he demoralised the squads harmony. He then started on the background staff, not the coaches or physios but people like the office workers, receptionists, security guards, cooks etc. coming out with new management bollox such as to be on time is to be late and all that ****e then being constantly late himself and arguing do as I say not as I do. You can believe me on this one or not it’s up to you lot but I believe the person I got this from 1 million percent. He clearly hasn’t had many deals lined up as we’ve signed Elanga and an Eddie Howe favourite. There’s hardly a queue of signings awaiting medicals. So we can agree that he’s a director if football handling transfers and he managed to snag 5 development and academy players - ****ing mint work for a director of football with a champions league campaign coming up. Part of the reason Trafford never signed a year ago was because of Mitchell’s bull in a china shop behaviour which royally pissed off the Burnley chairman. Again you can choose to believe this or not. So he’s signed no first team players, pissed off the owner of a club we were on good terms with previously, upset our star player and pissed off the back room staff. He was also ****ing shoved out the door, not the story it was by mutual agreement. Mint work. Got to say I thought he’d have done well here but was wrong.
Reportedly that's what happened with the Palace chairman too, during the Guehi negotiations. This was apparently why they jacked the price right at the end, rather than selling when we eventually met the original asking price.
Speculation either way... Essentially we don't know. Howe has said he found it difficult without him though, so that's a spanner in the works for the witch hunters. We do know for a fact what he said, so he's probably right based on his occupational experience. The good guy bad guy stuff is immaterial.
Out of interest, Is it speculation that a woman with zero history of working in a football club signed more first team players than super Director of Football Mitchell?
Was the club in psr trouble though for the full duration ...probably not. This is what I'm saying and it's that Mitchell did his job under restriction and then left. Howe has said himself he found it difficult without Mitchell. The fact we only signed youth players doesn't mean what he said about recruitment was wrong. It's just people pointing away at a separate argument entirely.
Howe on Mitchell... Horses mouth stuff guys. Forgive me, but this big bad wolf story seems highly fallacious from Hope and his merry men. It also indicates the Howe seeking full control story is bullshit too tbf, so I'll withdraw that. "My phone exploded [when the news of Mitchell’s departure broke],” said Howe, who will head to the Far East with Newcastle’s first-team squad this week ahead of friendlies in Singapore and South Korea. “I was enjoying the second day of my holiday, and that quickly went sour. Suddenly, I was like, ‘Oh’. “It was the second day, and I didn’t know. It was a complete surprise to me, and a big disappointment because we had stability. We were planning the summer ahead, It’s been a busier summer in that respect than I wanted,” admitted Howe. “With Paul leaving, I think that naturally left a hole in terms of that role. Someone in that role fields a lot and protects the manager from a lot of things. Of course, his departure left that open for me to do some things that I wouldn’t normally have done. “It’s been a challenging summer in that respect.
