Watching some pre season prediction stuff from YouTube experts and most seem to have us coming in second behind Ipswich, and the lowest I’ve seen predicted is 4th. The main logic behind the predictions seems to be how strong our midfield is and to a lesser extent our attack.

A few saying does depend on who leaves and how Still does so they aren’t really too confident with their prediction. One of them saying wouldn’t be surprised to see us as low as mid table even as it has happened before when a team has such a **** season in the PL that they struggle the following season. Used Villa as an example who finished 13th after they got relegated

Cheers guys. Certainly does bode well, its encouraging and inspiring for all, after a somewhat fallow ... decade(?) for our academy regards first teamers.

Ipswich is an interesting one. They've got some good players that haven't left (yet) and stuck with the same manager that got them relegated. Could be a stroke of genius, or they could do a Luton. They have a lot of room when it comes to PSR so I wouldn't be surprised if they spent some more. Wouldn't surprise me either if McKenna is sacked by Christmas.

Everyone has them winning the league. They should do it pretty comfortably, how they perform under that pressure will be the big question

I reckon we are the only team who can finish above Ipswich. But that would require Still being better than any of us are expecting.

We could finish anywhere from 1-6 imo. Whereas Ipswich I feel will finish 2nd at worst.

The Championship is a funny old league though.

Feel like the whole “most unpredictable league” cliche with the Championship is a bit dated now, at least at the top of the league. Cba to look but in the last say 5 years how many promoted sides were parachute clubs? Id guess at least 10 of the 15 promoted in that time frame were

    I believe you're correct to say 10.

In fact, I think (but I've haven't double-checked) that for seven seasons in a row, it's been two parachute teams and one non-parachute team who get promoted.

Can see that trend continuing this season. Ipswich, Brum and Leicester

Well not really. They’re “stuck” with the manager who was a miracle worker getting them promoted twice in two seasons. They were never staying up last season.

They might not have had much of a chance at staying up, but neither did Luton. They kept the same group of players and manager and did back to back relegations after back to back promotions. Always feel that either the manager has to change or the playing staff needs a overhaul after any relegation.

With no Vardy, a new manager, and a minimum 9 point deduction supposedly coming their way I'd be surprised if Leicester just about made the playoffs.

Their squad is still very strong for this league, arguably their first XI the strongest on paper. I’d be very surprised if they don’t go up this year. Points deduction means it’s more likely to be the playoffs, but I wouldn’t completely write them off for the top 2. They could have a 100 point season I think, which would put them on 91 points, that could get them top 2

I've just seen the Fatawu goal which he scored in Leicester's friendly. Wow. Safe to say that he's recovered from his injury.

He was brilliant in the Championship two years. It's worrying how good he might be this time.

Has he had a long term injury then? Don’t really remember much of him last season, except when he destroyed us in the game we threw away 3-2.

Yeah. Literally just a few weeks after that game, he got badly injured and missed the rest of the season.
