We missed a trick not having a look at Brewster. He was on a free and now signed for Derby.

 

He barely scores though, we need goals.

 

His barely scoring is better than no scoring. They also have Morris from Luton on a free. Decent additions for no fees.

I feel we’ve put all our eggs in the McBurnie basket and will be left with egg on our face.

 

I’m not sure a goal every 10 games is better tbh.

 

Nervousness with RB is that he's had a number of hammy injuries, and for a quicker player, like Owen 25 years ago, that can be terminal

 

Or `bolton get promoted on the back of his goals and then ask them for 1 million plus...

 

He’s got quality though. In the right team there’s no reason why he couldn’t score goals.

 

I do think a lot of the striker talk is quite unrealistic. If we could sign 2 strikers who you'd be fairly confident would score 7-8 goals next year, that would be a good improvement.

We all want a 15 goal a season striker but the chances of signing one when you can't spend a fee is pretty low

Yeah. The biggest thing that drives a fee up is a club that doesn't want to sell. When a team wants rid they're rarely going to get a big fee. Wilks went for very little because we just wanted rid. I suspect it was also known around the game that he's a bit of an idiot who will waste his talent. His issue wasn't the level of football.

that’s what I’m saying he didn’t do it in the champ, then did it in league one, then was back to being kack again. Something similar with Mason I reckon but time will tell he definitely has a bit of a sniff at goal, more so then KJ.

 

KJ is just a lot more dynamic, there must be a reason managers prefer him.

I think it’s fair to say he isn’t coming and never had any intention of doing so. He’s used us a marketing tool.

 

He can **** off for me. Haven’t understood the hype about him all summer. We’ve been linked with him for nearly two months and if he wanted to come, he’d have signed by now. Us taking the deal off the table shows that the club has a bit of dignity despite the restrictions and won’t beg big time Charlies and mercenaries to sign for us.

There’s a striker contracted to another club who wants to come here more than McBurnie and has admitted he’d already be playing for us if we didn’t have a fee restriction.
