I'll break this down for you. I know it's pre season. Im aware of it. I know this game is of no relevance by the end of the season. However, we dont have much to go on yet. Ive been there today and watched the team in the flesh and tried to give an honest appraisal of where we are going in to the season. Ive not written us off. Ive not said we'll lose to Everton. Ive not said that the new signings are **** and we're going down. Ive done a basic report on where the signings seem to fit in at this moment in time.
️ Daniel Farke after today’s game: "In the offence, we are not ready for Premier League level. We have to make sure that we have a competitive squad by latest - the first international break."that statement suggests our key signings are still quite a way off, if we can even get them. Doesn’t suggest Farke is confident of the three opening games before the international break. We’ve had three months to make sure we’re ready. Something is not adding up
Probably fuming because his job is on the line especially if he loses the first 3 but he hasn’t got the tools to do his job effectively.
Could be worse .... Sunderland lost again 1-0, after losing to hearts and hull .....in front of under 4000
I didn’t catch the first 20 minutes so not fully upto speed. Thought we looked defensively ok, but lacking any real threat up top. Thought the first 20 of the 2nd half their midfield mullered ours, so again not a lot to show going forward. But Piroe and Ramazani carried a threat once we retained decent possession. Overall nothing to get too excited about. Was disappointed with Schmidt and Longstaff. Thought Gudmundsson showed pretty well as did Aaronson. Thought most others did ok. Not sure you can get a true picture of who’s likely in or out for Everton. Reckon the likely starting 11 will be on show against Milan. On transfers, it was never gonna be easy or quick bringing a striker into the club. Obviously everyone including DF would have wanted all pieces in place for his first game. Sometimes you just have to accept the situation as it is. No one truly knows who we’re after, or their availability/affordability - other than those inside the club. Have faith they’ll eventually get it right. Your blood pressure and ticker will appreciate it .
It showed how much we miss James and Bogle and how reliant on them we are for their quality and their pace.
Yep. I think a few thought i was being too harsh yesterday but there was a huge drop in quality from the Bogle, James right flank to Schmidt, Aaronson right flank. Worryingly big drop in quality.
Think the media and certain fans have been a bit unkind to Schmidt. it was his 1st competitive game since coming back from the break he also was thrown right in at the deep end against a good team. he's never had the run outs like the others have had in pre season of course he's gonna be rusty and off the pace a bit. Pre season is about putting these things right. As on the game the Ref let alot of things go that on a proper match day probably would of had whistles. Villarreal did like to wind a few of our players up and tried to use brute strength rather than playing football. Bit worried with Farke now saying he want's his team finished by the international break. we are already playing catch up even when the squad is finalized so to start a season below that is really not ideal. Understand you don't just click ur fingers to bring people in but we were supposed to have had this all worked out 6 month before the season ended. seems we are waiting for players rather than going for the jugular with them. If our main targets are unavailable how long do we sit and wait? New players need to gel, get the system won't just walk in and hit the ground running. could be october before some new players are up with our mechanisms quite a few games lost. On we go though I'm praying Bogle's hip reflex isn't nothing more than that he defo misses the trip to Ireland he would be a big loss for the start of the season Hopefully this following week brings some better news on signings and injury worries.
Look on the bright side lads, it's only 21 months before we will be CHAMPIONS AGAIN after a great season pipping lesta, blunts and the mackems to the title.. one season of pain won't hurt anyone
Only Leeds could search for ages for a new keeper, scouring the globe for one, only to sign one that’s already injured ffs
Getting it hard to get our crew of70to agree on a pub. Won’t be there though. They’re doing a deal for 20 quid for burger pint and bustogame. Did you get that
No We're flying over Thursday morning going to the Camden Friday and ringsend Saturday before the game hopefully meet up with Shako, going to Galway Sunday to watch Rovers gonna be a hectic 5 days, drop me a text Saturday I will try meet up in whichever pub you're in kev
Well they must have seen something in him to fork out £2.2mil., so what's changed? Remember Firpo, he was a bloody liability initially and suddenly he became invaluable!
Hes never had a run to be honest but he's on his way out anyhow unless Bogle has a bigger problem in which we may have to wave away.
Hang in there. As some of the other teams do business it'll make some players surplus to requirements and others realise they won't be in the starting lineup and want to move. Always some late on stuff.
That’s the same as getting near closing time at a nightclub and you’re left with the ugly ones to choose from that no one else wants
