mcburnie would really take the team up a step

also gotta worry about strength in depth, hopefully some of the youngsters can take a chance in the league

but i agree, i think we can stay up

It’s been a better preseason than we could have expected as it started and I’ve gone from very pessimistic to hopeful. It’s still difficult to see where the goals are going to come from however.

you can get a LONG way in this league by being big physical and hard to play against, compared to 12 months, or even 3 months ago, we are bigger and more physical and look tough to play against

Decent performance against a strong opponent, nobody let themselves down, but we were ok and we'll get better. There'll be worse sides than us in the league this season I'm sure of that. Williams clearly knows how to play the game, if his head's in the right place I can see us signing him.

Said the same last season, but outside the top few there are hardly any teams who play fluid attacking football in this league

You’d think we’d just lost 4-0 at home to Kettering.

The commentator wasnt pronouncing the "G" in Getafe.
I think he was trying to sound Spanish

Didn't see the game today (working) but just remind me, we've played how many friendlies ? Lost our first in a virtual kickabout, but since have won all but one, including Premier league opposition, and drawn against a La Liga side who comfortably survived last season. All this while the club has had sh1t rumbling in the background, and lost several regular first teamers from last season. All in all I'd say we've done well, said before at present our best signing has been the manager, he has them operating as a team, fighting for the shirt, and not frightened to have a go. Given what's happened since the end of last season I'm pleasantly surprised at how competitive we are.

    Deffo.

We stayed up by a cat's cock hair and since have been constrained by our recruitment.

Getafe, on the other hand, finished 12th in La Liga and have been regularly in that division for past 20 years.

Given these two simple facts, I honestly don't know what some people expect or how they rationalise such disappointment.

Loved the fight today and can't remember saying (writing) that last season.

Be nice if there was a possibility at the end of the season, boy needs a home, stay for 2/3 seasons and sell on for a whacking profit

Getafe are defensively very strong. That’s the reason they survive in La Liga. Watched Barcelona v Getafe at the Nou Camp a few years ago, the score 0-0.

Was mostly one way traffic once our last substitutes were made.

Sellers-Fleming, Vaughn, Brown, Tinsdale may be ok off the bench if we are two nil up but none of them should be in the starting 11.

Was brilliant to see us as a real threat from corners for once.

Lundstram showed some touches of class but also looked a little rusty a few times.

    We desperately need a striker.

Cannot have been anything too bad as they had him running lengths of the pitch at half time.
