This is good news. Barton was one of the players who stood out when I watched us at Ammanford recently

Mannie Barton has signed his first professional contract with the Bluebirds.
The 17-year-old joined the Academy at U10 level, progressing within the Club's youth system, gaining experience playing for both the U18 and U21 sides last season.

With professional terms agreed, the forward discussed his delight at committing the next step of his development to his boyhood Club:

"It's a proud moment for me and my family," said Mannie. "From being a lad in the stands to signing a professional contract at 17 is a dream come true.

"We're all from Cardiff so this means everything to my family. Playing against Yeovil Town in pre-season in front of all of the fans that travelled to support us was brilliant, and it was a great feeling to score in front of them, it's something that I'd like to do again!

"It's an exciting time to be a young player at the Club. I'm taking my progress day by day, it keeps me excited and on my toes."

He's looked industrious whenever I've seen him.
A steady flow of youngsters coming through.

Just seen the squad numbers on Facebook.

3 keepers shown, Horvath, Alnwick and Turner. Where will Trott fit in unless 1 of the 3 leaves?

The problem these days is you get no clue as to pecking order from squad numbers. Or any clue as to where reinforcements might be targeted.

Salech 22, Robinson 47 and no number 9. :emoticon-0114-dull:

In years gone by, you'd assume we were in the market for a striker if the 9 shirt didnt have a name against it.

Does this mean he can’t play against us on the 16th? Might be better if he did <laugh>

BFB liked that. Masky has been watching Glamorgan cricket these last few days and wondered what positions BFB and IB would take up if they were players. Masky came up with BFB at “silly point” and IB at “what’s the point?”

The only time I watch cricket is when I can’t sleep. Put it on the telly, turn the volume right down and I’m in the land of nod in no time.
