A proper club would have rehab staff for isak to stay in Newcastle at their facility to be properly monitored. It's very clear he's ****ed off himself and contacted his own former club to train there. Let's not make excuses where none are needed
Now the last club to get through hump was Southampton over vvd and very coincidentally theory record of finding bargains dried up. Now a lot of things can feed into thst including changed in the owners and directors but looking like a very unreasonable.club can also dry up the agents willingness to deal with you. Newcastle.currently are one club in a crowd. Saudi support seems to be low interest compared to what it could be. If you want good players but are not top of the chain and look hard to deal with players wont go. Look at spurs for levy. They pay good wages but the type of player coming is a step below what they would want. We did a good deal for diaz on the other hand so have a half reasonable reputation as a club you can do a deal with
You may be spot on. You may not. I’ll refrain from making too many assumptions at this point. I do wonder what has driven this - have Newcastle failed to uphold agreements to him or is he just seeing bigger opportunities elsewhere?
Maybe. It's all speculation. You see injured players go home all the time during rehabs. Going to a former team to show you are able to train doesn't really fit the profile for me, that's all.
Of course it makes a difference. You don't let one of your players (nevermind a star player) train on the own or elsewhere. You dedicate staff to them and make sure they have best possible rehab. They've basically said "**** you, we don't care as you want to leave"
I’d have thought that Newcastle would have approved his training elsewhere. In any case, it does look like he’s heading our way. rumours about Konate to Madrid are resurfacing last 24 hours, I’m very concerned that we are light at CB and that an exit would be disastrous for us as we stand. I was thinking that we also need a replacement for Diaz, especially if Nunez and Chiesa depart but Rio may be given that chance; although, imo it’s probably too much at his age.
Maybe. We cannot really know if negotiations are going until the usual few more reliable sources announced its almost done. I agree on the cb. I want konate gone for a decent fee and move on. They alm have to be committed. We will need 2 cbs amd keep gomez for absolute emergencies and 2 cup games or so. A lot of money. My ideal August has 2 cbs in and a series of sales. Chiesa, Konate, doak, morton, tsimikas, bajcetic, Elliott all on the list. The its a luxury nunez out and isak in scenario. I see 140mil to come in there before we talk about 50 for nunez and 120 for isak. More than enough for 2 good cbs.
So now we know pretty much reliably that we have made an offer. We also hear that newcastle are fighting to keep him and offering stuff to try and engineer it. Newcastle fans seem very aggressive about it as if they personally saved his career or something. Same as us letting diaz go. Just go jog on, wish you nothing. I wish diaz absolutely no luck whatsoever. He didn't give a flying **** walking out the door so he's in the past for me. Some people want to wiah players leaving good luck like as if it means anything. people like benedict Arnold Miss the point about being local but again jog on and dont ever look for anything out of fans
Step 1 formalised then, offer in and rejected. Wonder how much Newcastle will be willing to negotiate though - 130/140m seems the likely number if they do
Newcastle currently has no DoF or CEO. I read that Howe has his nephew in trying to help him run things. No wonder there's no movement or meaningful negotiations with their own player and any prospective targets.
Yes, some super aggressive responses from Newcastle fans about Isak. He is a footballer not the new Messiah. He is doing what footballers do, just like Trent and Diaz. I really don’t know why the Geordies are getting so upset, yes he is a decent footballer but he wants to leave
It is hurting them.so its only natural I suppose. Not only that but they got told they are a smaller club when the story first broke and they should take it. I suppose we do the same when konate and trent and diaz all want to go but we get on with it. We've got imo better in so far and hopefully will do the same again with konate.
We were meant to (or Rumoured to) offer 100 mil. After that maybe the next step is the player making it very clear he isn't signing anything and the senior players and manager can't change his mind. A formal transfer request perhaps. It's a case here of figuring the real position and getting the best you can. It was pretty clear with diaz despite the effort we made he wanted more money and we got our best deal out of bayern. It's now up to Newcastle what they do as some of this is likely to be self harm unless they get it sorted. Their worst outcome is selling on deadline day. At least doing a good deal now give them a little time to spend it. Their best outcome is forcing him to stay and play but the fans are likely to make that rough.
Opening offer was £110m. Can't say I'm enjoying the drama tbh. I much prefer the under the radar deals we do. If Isak joins us and I'm not sold on the idea, he's under massive pressure to perform immediately.
Where's the 110 come from? Be interested to see the reliability of that source. Tbh anyone playing off wirtz.and salah this year is going to enjoy themselves so I am not thst worried either way. I'd be happy just keep nunez behind Ekitike and give thr guy a go if we can't get what we seem to want.
Some hack has said konate still talking to us about new contrwct but also talks with psg for this summer. The usual nothing from real stuff. As I said before make it ****ing clear to the guy that if he wont sign and is set to run down his deal then he is benched 100% and he can go swing for his world.cup chances. Real can go do one imo. Just need to be clear we dont take messing but we will do the best for us and win win is always possible. Diaz got what he wanted in the end (money)
Never said he was, I said "if he is". I've also since accepted the reason he's training elsewhere is down to the club, hence the post you've responded to
