Very classless form Khan in defeat, it was a close fight and it could have gone either way. Maybe Khan need's to take a step back because I don't think he's quite as good as he think's.
Amir Khan completely robbed. Even if you include the point deductions for pushing, Khan still won 8 of the 12 rounds. The American commentators on HBO called the penalty points taken away as "Home-Cooked refereeing decisions". A total ****ing disgrace and the reason boxing is dying on it's arse - corrupt bullshit that just puts people off. UFC wins.
Are you serious? The referee warned Khan several time for holding as well as pushing and said "I'll take a point away if you do it again", Khan didn’t listen and the ref was true to his word, he's lucky he only got 2 points deducted considering that he used his elbows on Peterson and on several occasions took a cheap shot at Peterson when the ref said to break, even Jim Watt (who is very accurate in his scoring) had Khan by one point up going into the last round. You cant call it a robbery when the rounds were so close and there’s no way he won eight of the twelve rounds, it was far closer than that, I had Khan a point or two up going into the final round but at the end of the day Khan has no one to blame but himself, he tried to trade a number of times and came out second best, he was dirty throughout and what the hell was he doing showboating between the rounds when he should have been trying to work, he can blame whoever he wants but it all comes down to his mistake that cost him the fight.
I've been watching boxing for longer than I care to remember and cannot recall the last time I saw points deducted for pushing. It's almost unheard of in Britain - the referee didn't pull up Peterson for his low blow or for leading with his head. The referee told LP about twice during the fight to "keep your head up" but that was it. ****e decisions aside, I think Khan won 8 rounds pretty clearly and was on the recieving end of another shocking decision. Martin Murray the other night was a travesty, this was even worse in my opinion.
I had Sturm winning the Martin Murray fight. I am less sympathetic to Khan. Partly because I think he is a cock and I know that can cloud things and partly because he was told not to do it. Khan won the fight imo but he let it get close by acting the prick. He paid the price for that. You have to rip the title from the champion. Peterson came forward and threw a lot.....hit a lot.....but he didn't take it away from Khan.
He also didnât call up Khan for hitting when the ref told them to break and using his elbows, Ive have seen points being taken for continuous holding as well as pushing the opponent, the problem with Khan was he constantly did it throughout, Peterson did use his head I agree with that, but Khan is going to find a lot of opponents who use similar tactics to smother their opponents and go in with their head, Bradley uses his head a lot and is technically much better than Peterson, I donât think Khan won clearly because Peterson was the aggressor and although Khan was throwing combinations, he was also being hit, he could of won it convincingly if he hit and moved but he decided to try and trade with Peterson which meant he got hit far too often. What was really concerning for me was that Peterson is not a hard puncher and isnât the best technically but he found Khans head far too often and wobbled him a number of times. Its Ironic that Khan said he was robbed considering that he was recently commentating on the Marquez vs Pacquaio fight and said that Pacquaio clearly won it as he was the aggressor, in that fight Marquez fought on the back foot like Khan but was far more clinical in approach. I didnât see all of the Martin Murry fight but it looks like he got robbed, Sturm fighting in Germany is an extremely difficult fight mainly because you almost have to knock him out to win there and he is very defensive meaning its very hard to actually knock him out. Ive seen a lot of terrible decisions in Germany so I wasnât surprised with what happened to Murray.
Can you point out to me the two times the ref told Khan that he will deducted a point from Khan if he pushes again. The ref was warned Peterson in the begining to ducking down with his head and bringing it in several times in the begining, but chose not to deduct points for that.
Didn't take points of Peterson for that either, or using his head to split Khan's guard and forcing it in his face or the the low blows Peterson landed.
My Scorecard Rd 1: 10-8 Khan, Rd 2: 10-9 Khan, Rd 3: 9-10 Peterson Rd 4: 9-10 Peterson Rd 5: 10-9 Khan Rd 6: 10-9 Khan Rd 7: 8-10 Peterson Rd 8: 9-10 Peterson Rd 9: 10-9 Khan Rd 10: 10-9 Khan, close Rd 11: 9-10 Peterson, close Rd 12: 9-9 Draw 113-112 Khan Could see how it could be given to Peterson the other way, but the deciding factor was not the judges but the referee and his point deductions.
Seen the fight twice, and I did not see the ref make a hard warning to Khan telling he will deduct a point if he continues pushing, not even once. I may have missed it, can you tell me when you saw this?
You are so biased for Khan its unreal, Khan also threw a number of punches that could be considered low, you keep talking about how Peterson used his head (which I agreed on) but what was the ref going to do when Khan is pushing his head down, you cant deduct a point from his in such a case as it is Khan who is instigating his head being low, Peterson used his head but he was cute in the way he did it so the ref couldn’t really see it, Khan on the other hand was blatant with his fouls which made it easy for the ref. At the end of the day you can argue as much as you want about Khan but the facts speak for themselves, he was far dirtier throughout the fight and couldn’t handle the pressure Peterson put on him, he deserved those deductions and was lucky not to get more.
Considered, low? Peterson threw a blatant low blow and the ref did not even blink or even say keep them up. Peterson was coming in low and pushing his head head, unless to take a few head butts to the chin, head had to push him away. The ref warned Peterson about this time and time again but never took a point off. Still waiting on you for telling me when the ref told Khan he would take a point of him if he continued pushing (a hard warning). Just tell me the round and I'll check it out.
Khan is a circle ****ing twat, Im glad he got beat the stupid little dodger. Maybe he will start to act like a ****ing british boxer instead of thinking he is manny
**** refeering and decision aside it's still Khans own fault, he had the fight in his hands but decided to once again act like a cocky prick and get into a brawl to in my opinion try and prove once again he hasn't got a glass chin anymore, he should of continued outboxing him and kept it at distance, or went for the kill in round 1 or 2 but he didn't and thats the end of the line, there be having a rematch anyway and i'm guessing Khan will use different tactics next time, just think the fight was further proof that Khans not up to Mayweathers/Cottos/Pacquiaos/Marquez' level yet. Mayweather must be loving it, Khan and Pac both giving it the biggun and getting shown up in their last fights
Marquez turned down a fight with Khan. Mayweather loving that potential tough fights are further away, I don't doubt that.
