The fact that this lad posted this only to leave this place for twitter having been told to stop expressing his feelings is an absolute tragedy.

Be nice to each other. Failing that, just be respectful of each other. You never know who is on the other side of the internet and you don't know how you're affecting them.

Feels like a weight has been lifted, no pun intended, I struggle with body dysmorphia but never really bother talking about it, mad how much some words on a screen have made a difference, thank you again, appreciate it

I've been chewing about RTG. As you know I've left due to Hetty taking over all my jobs on there and I feel pushed out. It's weird but it kind of feels like a loss that I'm grieving if that makes sense. The loss of a support network has been hard to take and the loss of my volunteering on the mental health thread hurts as I put a lot into doing extra training and qualifications to help people.

I understand that but look on the bright side, you’ve gained some qualifications out of it that you can now use and put to good use, wherever you go.

I’m sure there’s plenty of people on this thread would appreciate any help that you can offer.

Evidently there’s also a lot of people on this thread would be willing to give support back.

I felt the same when I decided to quit RTG. Admittedly I wasn’t anywhere near as involved on that board as you were. I went back a couple of times under different guises (TPFKAEJK and The Krankie Returns) but it got to a point where I felt it wasn’t worth it. I’m very open about my job. I’m quite proud of what I do for a living. But there is a minority on there who are clearly anti-police. I got fed up of reading their posts. Then, as you’ve already mentioned ‘Hetty’ or Hettonlass as he/she/they were known. Very much protected and very much the de-facto person in charge there. You can’t compete with that.
You’re better off here. Quieter but nicer I think.

Why do you need jobs and a “role”?

It’s just a football forum. Just post in threads you’re interested in.

Agree Hetty is a pain in the arse mind

Sorry to hear this Becs, it's no surprise you've feeling bereft. RTG have lost a great asset, not that they would care - the only thing that they seem to care about is site traffic.

Have you thought about becoming a 'mental health mod' on here? Either limited to just SAFC or across the site? There are plenty of us, me included, who struggle (or worse) with poor mental health (me included) and I guess there are lots of members who keep on buggering along but could do with some form of help

I can't post new threads or join in existing threads that she is on. I can't post on the depression thread, Happy Tuesday (chat thread) etc., as my presence triggers her mental health. I'm not actually saying anything to her, she just finds me being on those threads triggering so I've been asked to keep out of her way. As I'm a mental health volunteer connected to the club, it looks bad on me if I'm deliberately doing something that causes someone else mental distress, so I've kept away.

She has to start all the match threads and other football related threads now.

If I do start a new thread, she looks for an old thread, bumps it and then gets my post merged into the old thread. Eg: I started a Happy Fathers Day thread wishing people all the best as I wanted to hear what they were doing with their bairns. I've lost my Dad but I still like to hear how other Dads are being spoiled as that brings me comfort. She bumped a thread from a few days before with someone whinging about Father's Day and got my thread merged into that one. That ruined it as the thread made no sense with a load of negativity then me suddenly springing up in the middle of it wishing everyone all the best.

You’ve been told by RTG to not post in her threads as it impacts her mental health? That’s nuts if true

Since when can you just declare that x poster impacts your mental health and that is then reasoning for those in charge to essentially ban you from posting in certain areas

Sorry but I wouldn’t be listening to that instruction. You’re not being abusive or argumentative or even engaging in conversation with that poster. It’s not acceptable to just say that they don’t like you posting and expecting you to therefore stop posting - tough

I’ve been vocal about Hetty before. I’m convinced that she is a he or a number of posters using the same username.
I do know that you were quite a popular forum member on RTG. Hetty clearly sees you as a threat to their dominance of the board and is doing these things to undermine you. I seriously doubt they have any genuine mental health issues but they are using that as a reason do what they do.
As others have said, it’s an internet message board. We may meet the odd poster in real life; for example I met Hetzkes Ballet Teacher, Big Mal and Tom The Pom and all are genuinely nice people. The vast majority though you’ll never meet and you can only judge them on their online persona, which is what I’ve done with Hetty and a few others. If they are like that in real life then I wouldn’t want anything to do with them. You can and should walk away (figuratively speaking) from it all with your head held high. It’s their loss, not yours.
