I've been busy today on my tools making the missus happy but a quick scan and it appears most people have stopped peeing their pants and are accepting that actually we are assembling a pretty decent squad. Who'd have thunk it eh. This time 4 weeks ago we were going under and the chances of getting a hot dog for the first game of the season were looking bleak.

Absolutely. Selles had the team playing at top half form even though we barely knew where the opposition goal was, and I think the players we've brought in are generally better than the players we've lost, aside from the striker situation. I know pre-season is only pre-season, but having watched how we've been playing, if that carries over to the regular season, I can definitely see a top half finish.

It is not related to squad, I am happy that Acun cannot **** up finances of team more thanks to EFL embargo. It could be the best thing happened to us.
Tbh when clubs stop being able to pay on time, what happens on the pitch becomes secondary to the longer term financial picture. If we can improve the team as well as cut costs then it's massive bonus. But the very fact we are able to do that really highlights the folly of previous windows.

Wiki relies on the public to update so it's not reliable. 9 goals and 4 assists in 33 super lig appearances for Trabzonspor last season according to Transfermarkt. We were hardly going to go through a window without signing at least 1 Acun wildcard now were we? Hopefully this time he's not on 30k a week.
