  1. It looks like it's being beamed up by the Mother Ship. ET and chums are obviously rather partial to a Mick's Monster Burger.

Suggest you have a quick look at where Lambert sits in the championship goal scoring chart. You have not had a goal scorer of his quality for 50 yrs - and the way things are going at PFC you are never likely to.

Suggest you take a look at the championship goal scoring chart & note the man who lets his feet do the talking.
I don,t suppose you are old enough to remember the last portsmouth player to more than 15 goals in a season - and the way things are going right now I don,t suppose you ever will

SB3 You may laugh about Lamberts exploits with the pie and pasties but in truth your club would sell it's soul to have his skills in your side with or without gravy.....<laugh>

  9. I shouldn't worry about catering supplies, the SFC backroom staff have it covered. In fact, our Nigel has adopted a new mantra for the players in the dressing room.

SB3 if you are stuck for Christmas gift ideas this yuletide season, then I can certainly recommend a good read...

Bit cruel of Nigel putting that poster up in Saints dressing room - talk about having a personal dig at Rickie.
No wonder Rickie eats to forget...........in fact he has probably forgotten whether he prefers pies to pasties <laugh>

I'm sure Ricky is looking forward to getting another few goals to add to his collection against Pompey.

I'm sure you can only dream of having a forward like him <laugh>

3rd eye it seems some of the pubs close to the ground will be open but just to Pompey, so the scummers will need to bring their sandwiches and also their coaches are dry! <laugh> So we can get tanked up and welcome them to hell..................Colin dont forget to get stellar'd up before the game!<laugh>

I can answer that as regards the old BBC 606 but am instead going to say'no comment' <laugh>

Sadly I can not answer for Not 606 as my offer to act as an even handed and unbiased Moderator on our or Saints board was rejected out of hand! <whistle>

Guy Whittingham scored 40+ one season and still didn't win player of the year. Walshie got it instead.

Dearest most Beautiful Pompeymeowth- or Monty, as you could be called ?

Fascinated to see the old print of Portsdown Hill in 1824. I've got many steel engravings on the wall in my house although they tend to be from a book illustrated by Mudie in about 1832. I don't have any from Portsmouth other that a picture of Porchester Castle - generally because my main interest in historic buildings. Always amazed by the way that the trees are shown on these etchings as they make the locations look really exotic. I've a print of Netley Abbey which looks like it was located in the Tropics. Another print from the 1770's of Romsey Abbey looks nothing like the building and makes me doubt if the artist had ever visited the town.

    Thanks for posting.

    Cheers

    Ian

Monty? I'm afraid you have me at a disadvantage there, Ian! (Kipling?)

I entered "view from Portsdown hill images" and this fine painting by William Daniel popped up. I agree with you about the trees, they look positively Mesozoic.
