I don't really understand what is going on, I heard Israel say the food is there waiting to be delivered, then I heard the UN say it's not safe to deliver.....is that because the UN want a ceasefire declared first, and if so is that without conditions from Hamas?
I don't see what one has got to do with the other. Typically moronic and illogical thinking by declining western powers.
It’s convenient for Israel to say the food is there and then blame the UN for not delivering it. The UN were delivering food and aid for months in Gaza until Israel stopped it and then set up the GHF they are now saying, go ahead and deliver it then, and at the same time denying safe routes, schedules, timings etc. basically ****ing up the logistics for safe delivery.
Not disagreeing with anything here but why do people get excited about Starmer, Macron etc recognising a Palestinian state? It means absolutely **** all to the Israeli state. If they decide to keep pushing on and wipe it off the map, what these European leaders going to do? Threaten him with the ****ing ICC, again? I haven’t been keeping up-to-date with what’s been happening over there. The last I read was on here and maybe the BBC website at the time. Israel were allowing air drops of aid into Gaza and vans to go through that were carrying aid? Did none of that happen? I hope it did, for the kids sake. I’m still not sympathetic towards the adults out there mind. Apart from the ones who were openly celebrating, let’s not pretend the vast majority of the others wouldn’t have been delighted with what happened on October 7th.
The last I heard on this topic, was the UN not Israel say it wasn't safe to deliver, so they weren't going to deliver it I assume. My thought process at the time was, what is creating it not being safe? Hamas or Israel or both.
Yeah that’s what I mean. Israel are saying crack on then, but will not offer the UN any of the logistics or safety that they need to deliver it
That’s the main thing thankfully. It won’t change anything there. It might just further embolden a few of our less pleasant Hamas fanatics here.
Just listening to Jeremy Bowen talking about seeing large swathes of northern Gaza being levelled. A lot of it by private demolition companies, clearing the way for areas that right wing nationalists in the Israeli govt have earmarked for Jewish settlements. This, along with seeing a population being starved I think is why Starmer and co are now accelerating their stance on the issue of a Palestinian state, before there isn’t even one to secure.
Because it means Palestine automatically gets an energy shield dome impervious to all Israeli weapons ??
