Banega would be awesome but I am not sure he would leave until the summer. There is an Erkisen or De Jong (?) at twente who looks a real enforcer, I need to check on that. jav martinez is one that is always thrown about with Bilbao.
Valencia are out of the CL though, but I see what you mean because they are likely to get CL next year. Is Benega even a DM? I don't know why but I assume he is from what people have said about him. Every time I've seen him play he looks like an attacking midfielder.
We have miseed our chance with Martinez,Rafa wanted him for about £6m about 4 yrs ago, he will go for £30m plus now, if we want a Bilbao player its gotta be Muniain
box to box CM for me, real energy about his game. Montilivo would be good from fiorentina and they are struggling at the moment.
Muniain looks good, Llorente said no to us already so doubtful on him as well. Would love Jesus Navas but he has a bad case of homesickness. Not sure how Negredo is doing, but could be a shout. Krasic ( for width) is looking to leave Juve.
M'Villa cheaper than Montilivo? I think M'Villa is around 20 mill last time I checked, not sure what Montilivo would be, 15 maybe? Missed out on Van Bommel in the last January window, he would have been good too.
I don't know about that, don't know too much about Montilivo to judge. But certainly cheaper than Benega.
He would be good. M'Bia from marseille would be good too, although he plays CB as well ( could be good cover all the way around). Lassana Diarra would be perfect but lately he has been getting plenty of playing time, not sure if this is a ploy to jack up his price or not but doubt he would go now.
wilson on loan would seem to be required. i forgot about him for lb but the reality is we have 3.5mil invested there and so we simply must get him al lthe expereince and development possible even if the plan is to sell him. he's only 19 so in the end he's still an option even if agger and coates cover lcb for the next 4-5 years (if aggers fitness continues like it is) i'd say if chaill is available fight tooth and nail to snap him up and prevent the spuds having him. for the laugh i dunno.... loaning wilson seems wise and shelvey needs to get a game to show something before we buy another cm (if gerrard is ever coming back)
For me like others said we should only be adding real quality at this stage. kenny has done such a fantastic job of getting rid of the deadwood and strengthening the weak area(left back). We now have the foundations in place and only need real quality now. The defence surely is an area we have all the bases covered. If the price is right and the players are available it has to be one or two world class players, perhaps one established and one future prospect.
For me, I think we need a Proven premier league goalscorer, a CAM and a LW. Lets say we have £30m to spend (I think we might have a fair bit more but lets say 20 for arguments sake) ST- This is a tough one. Who is a proven goalscorer at PL level? Well i think realistically there are maybe two options, Ivan Klasnic and Demba Ba. I think we could get Klasnic or under £8m and Ba for under £12. Ba has scored 11 goals so far this season, and Klasnic has scored 7. Both good players, both goal poachers. CAM- Again, very difficult finding a decent CAM for a low amount. I've not really got any ideas as far as this position goes. A lot of people are talking about the other Brazilian Lucas, but there is no way we or anyone else is getting him for <£40m. I think we should look at someone like Ganso, very tall technically gifted player, could possibly get him for around £15/20m. LW- I know we have Downing, but he really hasn't impressed be at all. Maxi is very good IMHO, but for some reason Dalglish seems reluctant to play him, maybe because he was a free, I think Downing is only playing due to his price tag. We also have Bellamy, but i believe he is better suited to playing up front/on the right or in the hole. I think someone like Elia who is at Hamburg would be a good option. Very pacey, technically brilliant and has a nact for scoring goals too. I think he could be brought in for £11/12m.
Elia is a very good shout, Been impressed with him everytime I've seen him play (Not very often I must admit) More often and not he beats his man though his end product needs to be worked on
Except that he moved to Juventus in the summer... My list of potential/realistic targets in no particular order: David Hoillett (out of contract in summer) Victor Moses (wasted at Wigan, can unlock a team on his own) Wilfried Zaha (as an alternative to above, more of a gamble) Gaston Ramirez (don't know much about him, but he's said to be interested, being Uruguayan) All of those are similar kinds of players in terms of where they operate, but I think any would be a decent buy. None would be over £15m I wouldn't think.
Oh I had no idea he had moved Not convinced by Victor Moses, we have lot's of players with potential already, and he's very hit and miss
Maybe, but I think he'd give us options. Although he has had 46 shots and only scored once...to add to our worries.
