I think the new owners have really shown they're going to back the club ( providing we remain in the championship). It's definitely something I've never experienced, us spending this sort of money without having sold someone to fund it. The only transfer window similar i can think of is Chris Powell title winning season but even then we weren't buying from clubs really
I hope this is true. I've been worrying for a while that couple of our better players might be on the way out, and these recent signings are sweeteners for that pill. After all the false dawns in recent years I can't help but wonder what might be going on that we're currently unaware of.
For me this has been as good a closed season as could be expected. Survival will not be easy but well done all (so far)
They have spent because...... 1 they have had to 2 spending the tele money, apprx 11 million 3 only doing what other clubs will with signings Wtf fans are creaming themselves and sucking off the board is beyond me.
A very low bar. I'm pleased that things are looking better. But it's cautious optimism. Some fans (the ones I believe Elfs is referring to, on CL or the Wrexham forum) do get carried away.
I was told by Mundane (sorry, Mundell) on ITTV a long time ago that when Bowyer got us promoted in 2019, we had the 4th highest budget in L1. I found that difficult to believe, but I didn't see the numbers. I do know that Bowyer was not supported with any money the following season. That being the season we were sold for £1 to the Fake Sheikh & Slaphead. Our current owners do appear to be investing, to some extent anyway.
