Nothing wrong with what you’ve said mate, I hope you are right. Pre window, I thought we’d spend around £100m and look to bring in 5 £20m players with a couple of loans. I thought the likes of patto, Ballard, cirkin, Neil, mundle, mayenda would be very likely to be starting most games. After how we’ve gone about the window so far, my expectations have shifted a bit and now I don’t think anyone’s place is safe. Not because I don’t believe in the lads to step up, just because the club clearly don’t want to make up the numbers and want to have some long term success. They want a competitive environment. It’s a ruthless business, last seasons group will go down in history regardless of what happens. I hope a few them still have some more to write yet.
If Neil, 09 or any of last years team had done what Sadiki did for the 3rd hearts goal the Internet would have exploded. Yet its bearly mentioned. Neil on Saturday was and still is blamed for the tempo of the whole team. Ps it was his worst game EVER My thoughts on things are clearly out of touch with the majority and that's cool, its not suited to a message board, which again is fine, just means I need to read and not post
Not sure why you feel you can't post Obviously up to you whether you do or not, nothing wrong with folk disagreing/agree with you I personally hope you keep posting your opinions as it's nice hearing from a different perspective
we don’t all need to agree, that’s the fun of a message board. I welcome reading different opinions, sometimes they provoke my thoughts to evolve. I hadn’t thought about you said about if Neil or 09 had made that Sidiki mistake, it’s a valid point. Although Sidiki is young and new, so likely to grow and improve with time.
Thing is we'll accept whoever the club choose to sign ... ... the club's finances are the best we've ever seen and I'm totally relaxed about things. The club don't seem to be panicking so I won't be.
Equally a week ago after the sporting game and Sevilla we were singing Sadiki’s praises so no need to overreact either way. We need some bulk and experience near him though.
Really could do with some experience in this week and I am sure the ownership group know this as well. The lack of premier league experience is a huge worry. The signing so far have been on paper good young hungry ambious signing that will bode well for the future but yesterday has to be a hug wake up call for the management. Yes it’s just a friendly but the lack of experience out there was so worrying. It’s going to be a tough old long season with an awful lot of hidings along the way.
Sadikis mistake was laughable like but the worry for me was the whole performance, pretty much dominated in all areas. I think with Neil for me there’s a huge cloud hanging over him with this contract situation and I don’t think that helps anyone, him, RLB, the club, the fans. We need clarity on that imo. In terms of performance, I wouldn’t say he was significantly worse than others, but he defo missed a chance as this was the first game this pre season that he was given with out ‘starting’ team and the midfield looked off (not just down to him and not sure why he wasn’t in for sadiki). Your thoughts aren’t out of touch, it’s just how you thinks best for us to go, i think in a perfect world everyone would want us to do it the way you suggest. Some will think we should stick with the current lads, some think we should shop abroad, shop in Britain, buy youth or buy experience. All methods have worked across the years. Let’s just hope what the club decide on is the one that works for us. I think they’ve got all our trust over the last few years.
The window hasn't closed yet, you've no idea what team we'll be putting out tbf ... ... but I wouldn't say our signings are just young, hungry and for the future. Most have PL or experience in European competition.
Without going into it much more. With Neil. This wasn’t a one time thing, I felt all of last season the midfield felt unbalanced, very slow tempo. Then when these new lads came in, the first 3 games, the midfield looked so fluid, fast, and night and day from last season. Then when Hearts came a long and Neil was back in that 3, the tempo looked exactly the same as last season to me, slow, couldn’t build up well and we just kept knocking it about doing nothing. Sadiki came back on and we instantly tried that one touch passing and quick movement again. to me that was showing me a pattern and a common denominator. That’s why I’ve been so vocal about it. I think Neil’s playstyle doesn’t suit a Regis le Bris fast counter attacking team
See i looked at Saturday and saw a team that tried to keep hold of the ball to take the sting out of how Hearts would play. It was a chance to see how we looked trying to keep the ball against a fitter team. We will need at some point this season to try and keep possession, to try and stay solid in our shape and composed defensively. Its didnt work, bit is showed the coaches areas we need to improve.
They'll need to get the balance right, lots of talent but not sure how they'll all compliment each other
