So what do you guys think are our chances of winning some silverware this season?

We are out of the League Cup so thats a No for that competition.

That leaves us with 3 options: The League, The Champions League and the FA Cup.

    The League
I don't think there is much chance of us winning the league. I think City have a good lead and i can't see them hitting a bad enough patch of form for them to lose first spot, although i can see us getting 3rd or being runners-up (i think even comming second would be very good for the players confidence and experience wise).

    The FA Cup
We have a decent draw against Leeds and if we continue to get a decent draw i can see us doing very well in the FA Cup. I think Wenger may play good teams in this cup provided we get to a far enough round. So a lucky draw i think will see us have a good FA Cup run. In my opinion we are still in with a pretty good chance of winning the FA Cup.

We have the best striker in the league, our first team is as good as any and on our day there isn't a team who can stop our attacking play - add this to our now much tighter defence and i think we are capable of winning a domestic trophy.

    The Champions League
I actualy think we have a good chance at the Champions League this year. We have topped our group and so should make it through the Last 16 to the Quarter Finals. And if you look at the other teams to make it through you'll see there will most likely still be a team or two who look out of place in the QF stage. Should we get lucky and not draw Barca or Real i see us getting through against any of the other teams in the competition.

We play well in europe. We were very close to putting Barca out of the cup last year. We have a style and team that suite the way football is played on the continent and works well with the refs. Not many teams can cope with the way we play.

Then in the Semi-Finals it can go any way and the Final is just a single game.

I believe we are one of 4 teams capable of winning the Champions League this season: Barca, Real, Bayern and Arsenal. But it will depend on the draw. I'd rather not face one of the spanish teams across two legs but think we have a good chance in a 1 game final. Whereas i'd be less confident against Bayern in a single match but fairly confident over two legs.

    Overall

So overall i believe we still have a pretty good chance at silverware this season and a decent league position. If however we end up trophyless with good cup runs and a top 4 spot i will be content but looking for us to really push on and become a very good team next season.

If we where to win the FA Cup and get top 4 i'd be very happy. If we where to win the CL i'd be amazing glad we have stuck with Wenger1 If we won the CL i'd expect all the Wenger haters to eat there hats and never call for his head again even if he wins nothing for anotehr 6 years after that :p

What do you guys think our chances are at a Trophy - What do you think we could realisticaly achieve in the league - and what would you be happy with come the end of the season?

    League - No chance
    FA Cup - Possible
CL - If we avoid Real and Barca we have a chance, so not really much of a chance when you think of it.

Agree with the OP's assessment <ok>

I don't think we can win the league, but 2nd or 3rd would be a great achievement.
FA Cup, no reason why we can't win it
Champions League - I've actually got a really good feeling about it this year. I think we'll make the final.

Why not Samir ? I think we've got what it takes - and we usually do quite well in europe. The knockout stages are over two legs, so it gives us plenty of scope to score goals. I think we're looking better defensively this year too. Last season we beat Barca and we're cheated out of a chance to seal it in the second leg. I think we can go one step further this year and actually win it <ok>

Indeed it would be a great achievment to make it to the CL Final this season with the quality of some teams and in a season when we have been tipped to fall apart after the departure of our captain.

I can't see any teams other than Barca, Real, Bayern or Arsenal winning the competition.

I'm not overly confident against Real or Barca across two legs but still think we would have a good chance (we almost put out Barca last year) but would prefer to face them in the Final only.

Bayern i think in a one-game Final i'd be worried about but over two legs think we would out-do them.

The other teams imo are just not up to scratch although some sides have played some good football this year. (The italians seem to be playing rather well).

Yeah injuries have been a pain but Sagna and Wilshere returning will give a big boost to the team and i still think Diaby may have something to offer if he can regain some form.

Even without any signings i think this squad has more to offer than we have seen so far - and if we signed a player or two in January we could look like one of the better sides around at the moment.

i wouldnt rely on Diaby..He plays one game and gets injured.
He is almost synonymous to the surgery room, and i dont think we will ever see him fufill his true potential.

Good player, but too injury prone for my liking.

Yeah i wish Diaby could stay fit - i think he has the potential to be fantastic but whether he ever realises that potential is another story :p

No chance with the Champion's League but if we can keep winning/not losing we of course have a chance with the league. Every team is beatable and Man City WILL slip.

I don't think we should concentrate on winning a trophy this year, just secure a top 4 place and then see how far up the table we can finish and then see how the draw for champs league goes. If wenger does want to rest our top players for the fa cup games then fine, but i really don't want our fringe players to be playing in those games, players like chamakh arshavin rosicky squillaci etc really irritate me, i would rather us playing our young players who are hungry to do wetland give them more experience.

I think a trophy would be a big bonus, but I agree with your assessment. I certainly dismiss the idea that some people hold,
which is that Wenger should be sacked if we don't win a trophy - for me that is narrow minded thinking.
