Sunderland won, Newcastle got beat, it's been quite a while since we had the perfect weekend, hopefully we'll see many more of them this season, especially now that the rot's set in up the road.
After a traumatic week it was a great weekend football wise, and I got my results which confirmed that I had passed my social science degree which was cause for more celebration in the White household...
MrRAW - congratulations. It doesn't really matter what you do with it. It's the fact that you did it - you'll carry that with you for the rest of your life. Brilliant news.
Good news all round White, my uncle got a call to say his first grand-daughter and possibly the newest Sunderland fan was born in Australia before the the match. He probably can't remember a football match now though after the amount of whiskey's he decided to celebrate with ha ha.
To be honest, it has already played a pivotal role in getting me a promotion and wage rise at work on the strength of my expected results... Going through this whilst in full time employment and with three kids to consider has not been easy, and as you say it is something which I will carry with me for the rest of my life.. Thanks to all of you for the kind words...
Well done mate... never used to envy the part time degree lot, even with day release it would be a killer on top of a job. 25 hours a week waiting tables nearly finished me off. Shows great determination and you deserve all the trappings and praise that go with it
Well done MrRAWhite...sounds like you had a great weekend. The good news from the flanders household, Mrs Flanders didn't cook ( we ate out) and after the game I cashed in a nookie coupon...Happy Days
Cheers all: I did have one or two drinks too many on Sunday afternoon, and have suffered the consequences a bit today...However, I'm off work so why not...
I was going to reply in detail to this monumentally pathetic thread but it seems to have turned into a love-in about something else so I'll step aside. PS: Congrats.
Maybe a sentence too many...but see what a last minute goal can do, I look forward to cashing in many more coupons in the future.
What a silly posting. One win doesn't mean all our problems are over. Next weekend we are away to Spurs and they are home to Swansea so the boot could be on the other foot.
