What a performance by Stoke today. We were just immense. Started well, got the ball round the sides, got crosses in and Spurs had no idea what hit them. Sluggish start from them but we took advantage. They controlled most of the 2nd half, Bale put in some cracking deliveries and we defended them with a bit of luck and superb defending. The red card certainly helped us. Not sure if they had a shot after that.

Some super individual performances, namely Crouch, Etherington, Whelan, Whitehead, Huth, Shawcross, Woodgate and Shotton. I'd plump for Shotton as man of the match, as it was energy and pace in the early stages that set us up today.

Some cracking chants today as well: "Gareth Bale you look like a chimp" and "Tony Pulis' barmy army. We pay tax" :D

The BBC review of the game claims Spurs played a 3-5-1-2 in the second half. That's not possible. Fail.

Just saw it on the box Sgt, loved to have been at the Brit!

The 3 points are all, but I do think that we will play better and lose - as if I care!!

The 'we pay tax' chant - absolutely worth the price of admission <ok>

Next up - some Turkish Delight and THEN Ajax - payback!!

True Nicky but we were playing Spurs. They were always going to have a period where they battered us and we managed to keep them out.

we were brilliant today and with Shawcross and Huth in the middle and Shotton looking a very good player...............oh and no Delap!. That was all we were asking Pulis to do is to play our best players in their best positions and go for it, we have and we have won the last 3. Hope this run contnues.

Well done TP on a good team selection.

But we didn't play our "best" players in their best positions though, did we?

If we'd lost, you'd be moaning that Woodgate was played at right-back, that Palacios didn't start and that Pennant wasn't involved while also saying that Crouch wasn't worth the money we paid for him.

I thought it was great to see the Stoke of old, fighting for every ball and pretty much everyone running their nuts off - guess what we got the rub of teh green - fantastic.

Didnt like the Woodgate at RB and although he did a good job he hasnt got the pace and naturally plays narrow when defending, why..... because he's a fookin CB!!!!!!!!!!!!! Walters was dead on his feet from 75 mins on and for me the sub would have been jerome for him rather than Rory for Ethrington - thought he was superb by the way!

The result was great, and whilst we were fortunate (they should have had 2 more penalties for handball and Crouch handled the ball for the 1st goal) the way we played was worthy of the points IMO! For that reason TP got it right!

Only downside for me was this, Spus looked much better than us which shows we are just not good enough in certain departments and that should put things in prespective - we are afterall fighting for 7th/8th/9th and if we achieve that with a couple of decent cup runs then that would be a good season.

9 down, 3 to go TP, you proved alot of us wrong, but Everton and Spurs was achieved with Huth and Shawx at CB and Rory not on the pitch - so I suppose in a way we are all right! IMAGINE what we could do with proper full backs and a bit more creativity in midfield?

    Smither's
Yup, we rode our luck today? What about all those pts we've lost because of other CRAP refs?

And, anyone notice the Spurs defender ALL over Walter's before Crouch's supposed hand ball. A stone wall pen which, had Ether's Not scored. Foy, would not have given.
It goes around, comes around. I thought Woodgate was supurb today.. seeing as he's like you said... a feckin CH..

NINE pts out of NINE T.P. has proved me wrong too Smither's <ok>

We won today because.. we played HOW we used to play.. going for it. First half we were bloody fantastic IMO. Spurs are a good side but sadly, they can not defend.
As proven by our first two goals.

Just listened to a link.. Arry havin a reet whinge.. I was doubled up laughing, listening too the guy making excuse after excuse.
Best bit " We have a SMALL side I knew it would cause us problems" <doh> I don't /have never complained about refs... but the ref this, Foy that.. And, MOTD 2 didn't show Parker blatantly KICK Ryan first half which, should have been a RED card IMHO.

rant over let's KTF and move onto Wolves.. we MORE than deserved the win, if only because I've seen SO MANY BAD REF'S NOT giving us ANYTHING. And I'm talking about THIS season.. some have been FAR worse than Foy was today.

If I were a stoke supporter i'd be keeping a low profile as you didn't win that game on your own merits. You were helped by some poor refereeing decisions. It's all well and good to be over the moon if you deserve to win but that was not the case yesterday. i would be embarassed if my team won in that fashion. I certainly wouldn't be crowing about it like most of your supporters seem to be.

We've just beaten a world-class team that's light years ahead of us in terms of stature, history, infrastructure and playing and coaching staff.

Please forgive us for being happy with yesterday's performance and result- if you don't like what's being written on here, I advise you to not read the comments and stay on your own board.

YOU really think that we care what YOU think or say? It's OUR board we wanna gloat we will. but..
Who's glaoting no one. Just taking pee out of Arry and there ain't smoke without fire is there.
    TAX....... I for Arry

I suggest your fans stop whinging ASAP, I'm reading your board and avin a right laugh at YOUR own fans comments.
Ghoddle is a first class Twat.. why?

Because he is having a go a me, the rest of the Stoke fans, our club, our manager and ANYTHING to do with OUR CLUB.
It wasn't OUR fault the ref sent off Kaboul, it wasn't our fault GALLAS was fouling Walters when he knodded down to Crouch re the first goal.
Mr Foy didn't give us a pen, he played on and we scored. OUR 2nd goal was BAD defending on YOUR part nothing wrong with it surly.

Seem's it catching? And it goes rather quiet when TAX and ARRY are mentioned in the same sentence.. Next (probably} England manager
charged with some Tax evasion or similar? I'm sure you will correct me.. just listen to Dermot Gallagher former ref...
Two yellows and now your going to tell me Walter's wasn't fouled. OPEN your eyes and look again. He caught Walter's and was rightly sent off.

But, of course you won't see it that way.. who cares?
I suggest that unless you have something constructive to say.. just sod off. And make sure Arry has a decent lawyer when he's in court.
Is THAT Mr Foy's fault Too? Ask your Manager..I think not. <doh>

You answered your own question gericalo - you are NOT a Stoke supporter and this, believe it or not; is a Stoke site.

You really are a bit slow today, are you not? So be a good chap and buzz off and commiserate with your fellow sour grapers.

    Cheery bye
