Strange that Argyle hadn't arranged a Saturday friendly yesterday ? Quite a few comments elsewhere that our pre-season friendlies are becoming very low key and opponents very poor.....without any quality opposition for most of them.....noticeable year by year that the games are becoming more unsatisfying............and not to have one on a pre-season Saturday in favour of an in-house friendly seems strange,
I don’t know when it was scheduled for but the next game after Truro was to be an in-house. 11 v 11 game. The idea was to allow two full teams to step up to playing minutes.
Needs to be more competitive at this time of pre-season......you can have an in-house 11x11 anytime.........you need desperately to be sorting out your strongest eleven.....and at least introducing them to each other.....so may changes and permutations to sort through and with a new manager and playing systems to learn. The Bristol C game is rather late to find out your not up to speed.......so few friendlies.
Womens Football.......if you can't beat em....then join them. I see London City Lionesses have signed a goalkeeper called Sophia POOR.........you couldn't make it up could you.
Argyle are being linked with 24 year old Jamaican international striker Rumarn Burrell (4 games, 1 goal), currently at Burton Albion (30 games, 11 goals).
That'll be three strikers with no proven scoring record on the books......just need some success from at least one of them if not two.
Michael Cooper was omitted for the second friendly running......causing some anxiety at Sheff U that he might be leaving.....there have been whispers all summer of a possible move to Everton....other clubs have been mentioned as well. Would a move trigger a pay-out for Argyle ?
INCOMING Signed a one year contract. 24yr old...6ft 3in tall and been on loan continually to many clubs from Fulham since 2019 ? Represented England at every level from U15 to U20. Will probably start against Torquay tonight....because Hazard is not available yet.
Thanks guys for keeping me informed of the goings on at Argyle. I check this website every day for your info. Im looking forward to our prediction league. Thanks again BC
Five players missing from the Torquay match. 1.....Julio Pleguezuelo.....Knee.....might take part Saturday. 2.....Caleb Watts .....Muscular. 3.....Matthew Sorinola.....Fatigue ? 4.....Jack MacKenzie.....Fatigue ? 5.....Tegan Finn.....Hamstring (picked up in Austria).
You'll see Pleggy warming up before the Torquay game in Picture No 9 https://www.pafc.co.uk/news/match-gallery-torquay-united-a2526 Not fit enough to take part but at least put on the grass.
A rather different style to whatever it was that we played under Muslic I have to say. To be fair to him, he’d have been a hero if we’d stayed up but it certainly wasn’t pretty. Have you ever seen Joe Edwards in the opposition box so much? Down the wing yes but right in the danger zone? Perhaps we’re playing 4 at the back when defending, 3 when attacking. Very Manchester City.
I'm not sure how serious Bristol C are taking the Argyle game tomorrow. Tonight we have Cheltenham v Bristol C kick-off at 7.45pm. Tomorrow we have Argyle v Bristol C kick-off 3pm. Surely not asking players to play twice within 20 hrs....? So will they be splitting there squad into two equal teams....or are they viewing the Chelteham game as a second team fixture and the main squad will be at Home Park tomorrow. We won't know until we see their chosen teams for tonight and tomorrow.
