So what difference does the distance the ball travels have to do with it?
If the ball is hoofed from front to back between two of our players the ball is still in our possession.
The distance the ball travels is irrelevant. <ok>

But forgive me if I'm wrong, my point was: Blackburn had surprisingly high posession because they play the long ball all the time. A long ball clearly takes a lot longer to reach a player than short ball, so that whole time th eball is in the air, the counter is clocking up that Blackburn still have possession. Dickweed.

If the ball doesn't go to one of their players, they lost possession at the time the ball was kicked.
As it would be classed as a misplaced pass. <ok>

Like I said to you before bonny lad, if you want to argue, go on your own board it is the only place you will find someone of lessor intelligence than your good self. <ok> (Even then you would clearly struggle.)

It's an open forum guys, no such thing as "our board". **** off to the SMB if you want that.
Incorrect MR, the ball is with the balckburn players possession until a sunderland players makes contact, as i previously stated

Understand what ur saying mate but surely the interpretation of what possession is cant be responsible for a discrepancy of 20% no matter how much hoofball Blackburn play

Perhaps you're right mate, was merely offering my opinion on what causes the variation between what we see with our own eyes and what the stats suggest.
