Their game plan is reminiscent of how the men’s team used to play a few decades ago. Score a goal and then pull 9 players behind the ball and leave one up front. They were very well organised. I think England deserved to equalise, though.
I think you have to admire Wiegman's courage to withhold making changes until very late in the game. Having those fresh legs ultimately proved the key to unlocking Italy. Very brave call which had it backfired would have resulted in an almighty backlash.
IFAB are seriously considering removing rebounds from missed penalties in games so such goals may not be around for much longer.
