I thought he was incredibly effective but didn't play enough. He said at the end of the season that he'd been carrying an injury for the last few weeks which had limited his minutes, which made it all make sense to me as I previously couldn't understand why he wasn't starting every game given that he was such a penalty box threat from midfield and no one else was.

 

Didn’t that interview take place after the alleged event where players were told to find new clubs?

Had we made it clear he probably wouldn’t be here as we either weren’t taking up the option on the loan or told him we would flip him?

His performances on the pitch never suggested he didn’t want to be here. I’d be making him feel as welcome as possible.

He will contractually be our player. Whether we are unable to register him or not shouldn’t have any bearing on that. The fact he’s here for pre season too. If he was being sold it would surely still be us selling him.

That's how I understand the situ - maybe loaning him out for a season might be a better bet and if he has a good season, puts us in a good place to profit

 

Could be, although if we actually can’t register him I’d be tempted to just sell on as long as it’s not at a loss. Don’t really think we can afford to be paying for first team players to be playing elsewhere but then I’m not Acun so I have absolutely no idea of the reality of our finances. He might have a **** load of cash sitting there he’s happy to throw in, who knows.

Just because we can't register him doesn't mean he isn't our player.

 

Yeah, probably with a nice pay rise vs his previous contract, and a nice signing bonus too. It would be a complete mess trying to reverse all that and why would we, he or Leverkusen want to do that? If we can’t register him we can’t register him, that’s our problem.

 

Could we charge a loan fee....?... or is that embargoed also..?
