How are Labour doing after their first 12 months

Makes me laugh tbph, imagine living in a quiet little town like Whitstable only to find the cops kicking your door down in the early hours. <laugh>

I think I laugh because it does have that ring of middle class about it, only to get dragged out as a terrorist.
Yeh guaranteed they're grey haired upper crusties

My old dear was misdiagnosed twice by two different Dr's for her cancer.... She got 52k for negligence. Which I believe is the maximum payment now.

My brother has cerebral palsey because the hospital ****ed up during his birth..

He got 3.7m after 7 years of fighting for it by my dad and stepmum.

So I can't agree with you and brb on this tbh

Sorry to hear that sucksta. It sucks that mistakes were made but where does this **** end. If i get stabbed and i can't work because the governemnt release a prisoner who shouldn't have been should i be able to sue them?

I think if we want people to be given free stuff and then something goes wrong through accidents, it's tough titties and in the case of someone like your bro, he will potentially need care for the rest of his life so the NHS should front up for that.

Do i get to ask for a cancer check every year to make sure i am cancer free and if they don't give it to me and give me scans i get to sue them if i get cancer because they didn't want to waste a huge amount of money scanning me every year?

I’ve no problem with paying higher taxes but only on the basis that they aren’t wasted by the sitting government.

If we could see the benefit of our taxes, mainly with frontline services and public transport, I’d be fine with that.

Yeah agree mate. They need to be scrapping that Mansion House event as well, it;s not a good look to the poor when they see a black tie event with silver service cutlery, it seems so obscene in this day an age, regardless of who funds it.

yeah i agree. yeah the NHS could make a mistake but thats the risk take. You get it for free unless it’s a big cover up of something more sinister but no one should get NHS compensation for mistakes. Imagine how much money we could save.
Dunno about you Bobster, but I pay my N.I. contributions :emoticon-0105-wink:

No worries bro.
I hear you're point but I saw my old dear go through six years of pain and then death cos of mistakes by two Dr's so as you can imagine I was happy when she got something for all **** she went through.

It's hard not to attack it from a personal level for me and I'm sure you understand.

For those reasons I'm probably not the best person to debate this without bias

Just thought I'd add my 2p

Dunno about you Bobster, but I pay my N.I. contributions :emoticon-0105-wink:

Not sure NI is strictly for the NHS but i pay enough taxes. Even then i get **** all for it, i don't ever use the NHS myself which has been dumb for me as my ankles are paying for it.

To be fair i could have probably sued the NHS, my dad had cancer and they put him on treatment even though he had hepatitis B (dormant version). Then that ****ed his liver because the chemo screwed his immune system up so the hep b went crazy. I don't blame them though, how the **** were they to know he had hep B.

yeah i get you bro. I'm sorry you had to go through that

Even I'd pay tax again if I start seeing a government that isn't intent on fuking over this country and all of us in it.
So if Nigel gets in, starts deporting and removing benefits, you going to start contributing to society?

Nice to see.

He paid for my gaff, I have to pay him back <laugh>
Just bank it for him bro. You can get about 5.5% - 5.75% with big private banks, at the moment. That’s only on a 12month term, too.

Stick a million quid in and you’d get it back with 55k on top, in 12 months time. Take your 55k for the year and put it back in again for another 12month. And around and around it goes.

That **** pays for my holidays every year. I don’t actually make money on my investment but never have to save for a holiday. I’m happy with that. I don’t have a million quid to deposit like but I’m happy with what I do and what I get back.

Oh, sorry to read this mate.

I know the square root of **** all about anything medical. I have to ask my brother to give me it straight when I’ve got no idea what they’re banging on about, which unfortunately is quite often at the moment. Wouldn’t that show up on your old man’s blood results or would they need to test specifically for that?
