    Some of it. Yeah.

**** knows why anyone would want to stay there though. They’ll be more of the same coming in just a few years time. The world is a big place, no time for sentiment when people you know are being killed including your family.

There has to be a difference shown here though.
Yes Hamas were voted in by the Pallis but are a terrorist organisation who would/will kill anyone who is against them so not really legitimate.
I have made this analogy before and will repeat it now, the IRA attacked mainland Britain, should we have bombed the **** out of Belfast (their base) as Israel are doing now to Palistine?

Well that would be British bombing the British on British soil. Israelis aren’t bombing their own people on Israeli land.

    It’s not really comparable mate.

Israel has given away land multiple times the size of current day Israel for peace. But Greater Israel, ethnic cleansing, Gaza beachfront apartments.

I'm astounded you still use this analogy Diego.

For it to hold water, the IRA's mission statement would have been the destruction of mainland Britain and death of every Protestant or CoE person living there.

    Was that the case?

We often forget the IRA’s rape and murder rampage through Morecambe and those fishermen they held hostage for two years while Thatcher bombed the ‘ra hiding in the tunnels of Londonderry.

You can't really use Ireland as an analogy - for a start the Irish Rebellion was successful... and established what is now Eire...

... the IRA in N.Ireland during 'the troubles' were part of what was then a minority population on 'UK soil' ... and indeed could theoretically have emigrated to join the rest of 'their people' in the South had they really wanted to - as it now stands, the North could, again theoretically, vote to join a united Ireland in the future - although that would bring it's own problems and resistance from the protestant population.

Doubt those advocating that Gazans should leave Gaza will have the same views on protestants being forcibly encouraged to leave for mainland UK if the North becomes part of a united Ireland mind ... and of course they shouldn't have to leave their homes, communities etc.

Gaza is Palestinian and should remain so - the West should help in its rebuilding and also in overseeing free elections and the establishment of a moderate democracy - the time is ripe - I doubt many, if any, Gazans now think war with a US backed Israel is a good idea in any way shape or form ...

Not so sure the Republic wants the North anymore - though probably would feel obliged to accept it .

    Will they ****.

They are still trying to take land in the West Bank and there are people in that Israeli Govt that see ALL Palestinian land as their God given right.

The hostages have **** all to do with it from Israel's perspective, it was never about them for Netanyhau.

Hamas handing back the hostages now with no assurances about Gaza, aggression from Israel or further incursions into Palestinian territories would be like somebody handing over their car keys to a thief who promised he'd bring it back.

And while we're talking about hostages, let's not forget the thousands of Palestinians who have been snatched off the streets and locked up in Israeli prisons.

Lol, this is what I mean innit

We've got people on here openly calling for Palestinians to be wiped out, stuck in a blender, driven into the sea.

If anybody said something similar about Jews, this place would ****in implode and they'd get Aber'd <laugh>

    Would it though ?

He'd find a way to make it all about 'Israel's security' and present some bullshit about having to permanently occupy Gaza on the back of it.

BBC breached editorial guidelines on accuracy, in regards the Gaza documentary. Something to do with someone in the film being related to a Hamas leader (I think).

    :bandit:

I didn't watch it btw, so not a clue what they're going on about.

Edit: Failing to disclose the narrator of the film, was the son of a Hamas official.

    And a trained actor.

Otherwise it was totally impartial and unscripted.

    A trained actor ?

The doc was pulled because he’s the son of a deputy agricultural minister

Is what he says and highlights in the doc untrue ?

He’s the son of a deputy agricultural minister

We have to remember that Hamas are the administrative body in Gaza, they deal with everything from schools, hospitals, street lighting, agriculture, water and sewage etc

they aren’t just a bunch of masked men with Ak47s

I understand why the BBC pulled it, because they can’t be seen to be broadcasting ANYTHING that is related to Hamas

But as I’ve asked CK. Does the fact that the narrator is the son of a govt official automatically mean that the documentary doesn’t accurately portray what like of like for children in Gaza ?

Maybe seeing what life is like through the eyes of a child in Gaza would have awakened too many consciences which could have damaged support for Netanyahu’s war ?
